there is always positivity. because we still getting into attacking positions & creating chances. problem being when we get there. like burke through on goal 1 on 1 with we cock it up & other teams capitalize in game situations
I agree and that's why I think u play better football than Palace. A little quality up front and it would be a completely different season. Also, PL is unforgiving of errors at the back and when u look at your injury list there is definitely going to be errors.

My team for this evening..

...................................Ramsdale

.............Ampadu............Jags................Bryan

Baldock..............................................................Lowe

........................Fleck..............Osborn

..............................McGoldrick

............Sharp................................Burke.

I don’t really rate Lowe but Stevens is done, the better option would normally be Osborn but I have got him in midfield to get fucking Lunny out of there. Didsy just behind the front two of Burke for the pace and Sharp to take any chance we might create.

We can bring Mcburnie and Brewster late on if we get desprate

McBurnie and Sharp up top for me, our proven midfield trio of Lundstram-Norwood-Fleck, and five across the back

Keep Burke and Brewster on the bench for 75 minutes, on no account give any of our young players a chance to show what they can do.

Keeo the score down to 2-0, talk about “fine margins” and how we can’t compete with Villa on wages.

The system works - don’t tinker with it!
If nothing else, this season has shown our sense of humor is alive and well. Nice one Newbury.

As a Villa fan that is the Sheffield United team that I least want to see this evening.

Yeah, but for goal-line technology to fail it would mean that McB would actually have to have a shot on target that crossed the line :):):)
But as we only ever hoof it up to him, we really have nothing to lose.
However, as it is Villa, the goal-line technology could fail by simply awarding us a goal even though the ball was nowhere near the goal line - and for our second the ball could have gone out for a goal kick. Kismet!

0-2 same slow create no chances score no goals kind of game.
But isn't the joy of football that u could score an early goal and spend 85 minutes heroically defending and come away with a hard-earned 3 points and a big blow to Villa's Europa chances and send all the Villa blogs into meltdown or (even worse for Villa), come out on the front foot, McB scores a hattrick and Brester adds a 4th in a complete domination.
As fans, it is very difficult, well at least it is for me, not to have huge optimism ahead of each and every game we play.

🤣🤣 we don’t score any goals let alone an early one!

You reeled me in, but Mcburnie score a hatrick ? Now I know you're just trolling 😂😂

Come on you Millers , this is the only match that matters 2nite, Fuck our set of losers 🤣

  • Sheffield United have won their last two Premier League games played on a Wednesday, having won just one of their first 13 such games in the competition (D3 L9).
  • Aston Villa have lost each of their three Premier League games played on a Wednesday so far this season, with these coming in three consecutive weeks between January 20th and February 3rd.
  • Sheffield United defender Enda Stevens hasn't ended on the winning side in any of his 18 Premier League appearances this season (D2 L16) - the last player to play more matches in a season in the competition without winning was Alan Hutton in 2015-16 for Aston Villa (P28 D6 L22).
so basically drop Enda and we will win ...

The thing with Enda is that Villa treated him very badly. When we were both in the Championship it used to piss me off that we had bloody Neil Taylor at LB who cost us a lot of money and you guys had Ends who we left in the scrap heap. Those type of players often up their game when it comes to playing against the club that dumped him

yeah i dont know who you support so this could backfire quickly 😁 but last season Southampton similar situation but danny ings keeps them up. ss he takes them chances. Southampton without ings only got 30 goals last season. but we cant afford the wages of the proven strikers that wilder wants. for potential number of reasons

I support Villa, hence my activity today :)

And just to expand on Danny Ings, Saints were top of the PL in Nov and now they are dropping like a stone and below SU in the form table. And what does that coincide with? A certain Danny Ings losing form and not scoring. And the cynic in me says that also coincides with him not wanting a new contract at Saints and wanting to play for a Champions League team.

Cautiously optimistic tonight.

Think we should start with Burke and Sharp up top. Not sold on Mings being this world class defender and I think Burke could cause some problems. Billy is good at winning nothing freekicks in the final third and providing Norwood is on song with his set pieces, could see us troubling their back line. Having said that, they've got a fantastic keeper in Martinez so no doubt he'll have a blinder.

With a back three that wouldn't look out of place in League One, we've just got to hope that Villa's front line aren't firing on all cylinders. Lets hope that greasy haired prick Grealish is out.

I think they'll be goals for both sides tonight. Head says 2-2. Heart says 3-2 Blades.

Grealish is confirmed as not playing.

We have won against Villa when:-
  • Mars and Jupiter are in Juxtaposition to Saturn.
  • CW has had mackerel for his lunch
  • I won the lottery- prize £ 45 mill..
  • Kevin McCabe bought a round of drinks.

So its a " given "
