Keeping hold of players

the 3 likely to go are egan joc and berge but thats it for me dont think we can let any more than that leave but for me thats a minimum 75m if all 3 go and would enable us to bring 5 or 6 good championship players in
 
I don't understand this idea that we'll lose players. Most of our players were considered lower league tryers. After our first season some of them could've been snapped up, but they weren't and the idea that anyone would be interested in them after they've shown they actually are lower league tryers (who sometimes dont try) is bonkers.
Even Berge hasn't shown he's worth a punt. At best he's shown a bit of skill in an underwhelming team. At best. Unless he has a very generous release clause, he's going nowhere.
JOC is the only one I see as being a target, but no one's going to take him after his injury. January maybe, if he's back to his former self. Egan is a slight possibility, but I think he knows where his bread is buttered, especially since I don't see a big team coming in for him. The rest are either too old, too crap or haven't shown anything to tempt an offer.

thing is hamburg if they can treble their salaries by moving their gonna do it and you wouldnt blame em for that hope your right if we can keep egan joc and berge plus bring in a couple of good championship midfielders i think were nailed on for a top 6 finish

Irish international. Can play LB, LWB, LCB. I can see Burley picking him up as a utility squad player. He'd probably costs a few million and low wages.

That was the starting line up for the last league game Wilder wasn't in charge of. From that to the Premier League (via two promotions) in three seasons lest we forget. Is the task confronting us at the end of this season not easier than it was back then?
Whoever we keep is quite capable of playing in a promotion team. Baldock, Stevens, Basham, Egan, O'Connell, Fleck, Norwood, McGoldrick, Sharp have all done it (although maybe age has slowed some of them to the point they won't again).

My main concern is going back to the style that got us there (attacking, being a joy to watch) more than whether we'll have players good enough. For that we need Wilder believing in himself again.

I wouldn't begrudge any of them the chance to move to a prem club or a signing bonus or higher wages. I don't think any of them "owe us". I just don't think the offers will come. There may be a few lesser offers, perhaps Championship teams, perhaps as squad players at the lower PL teams, maybe some players will take it but I would be surprised if Bash, JOC, Egan or Berge went for a move like that.
 
When he says "financial sense" that is a very sweeping statement and it means that if somebody comes in with £3.50 and a bag of sherbet lemons but it gets them off the wage bill then we'll probably flog them.
 
Thing is that the players I'd expect to see go in the event of relegation are all injured right now. Would expect we could see someone in for Berge regardless and we could move him on without a loss, but others could end up being a case of people coming in at the next JTW if fitness and form returns

He cant play LCB hes a liabilty there
Come to think of it hes been a liabilty all season. If we can get a few million for him see ya later

We won’t lose money on him. As I said before, worst comes to the worst, he’ll be on a season long loan to Napoli/AC-Inter and then a bidding war will commence. McCabe is thankfully long gone.

I would be gutted though if Egan went arguably CWs Best buy

We aren’t getting £75m for those 3. Our negotiation skills are not renowned for their excellence.

so what your saying is you want to find someone stupid enough to pay top dollar, say £18mil, for a keeper that dives over the ball, isnt convincing on crosses and is half blind..........

On a serious note, hes on £40k a week, there probably arent any EFL clubs that would pay that to a keeper.
Is any PL club going to pay him £40k a week given his last 2 years CV?
Honestly dont think we could give him away, and thats not been ludicrous - but who would pay multi millions and those wages for a keeper thats had the season hes had?

He needs to get a sports shrink in during close season (at his own expense on 40 bags a week)
Then a good solid preseason working on all aspects of his game
Should we get promoted, the confidence that would bring will set him up for another go at the PL

i would hope the players that are taking us down to the championship will bust a gut next season to get us back to the premier league hamburg and i hope your right that not many prem clubs will be in for our top players
 
What happens if a player says he wants to leave? we‘ve never faired well in these situations, will we get a good price or is it more of get rid quick?
 
Not really fussed if Berge goes or stays but we are going to have to generate some funds as every club does. Norwich only lost Lewis so hopefully were similar!

Dont think Wilder is against help regarding signings he would foolish to do so.
He needs as much help as the prince can give him.
What will upset him and not tolerate is interference with team affairs ,no player should be signed against Wilders wishes by that I mean just bringing in a player the prince and his Belguim friend (director ) want to bring in but Wilder doesn't want.
I beleave they will work together with Wilder having the final say which players come in and go out, within budget obviously .
 
I can see Norwich bidding £7-8 million for JOC In the summer.We need some back up for Grant Hanley in case he gets an injury. We tend to buy from lower league clubs

Can't see it myself. You didn't buy anyone the season you were relegated the last time.. something about clearing/managing club debt?

Fingers crossed! For his sake I hope he’s happy with that, because otherwise we will probably have to loan him out to a club in league one.
