Task gets harder

It still & has been for a while a big gap between us and safety that i can’t see us bridging ,( not enough goals in us ) I just want us to finish the season with a respectable finish & build for next season . I think with a couple or three additions , a proper pre season we’ll be back up and challenging looking at how last seasons relegated sides are performing ⚔️

But our forms improving
Just saw spurs dicked by a city side who only just scraped a 1-0 against us
That's our task . Keep improving
Keep believing
Derby and Huddersfield are the teams to get relegated earliest, after 32 games, there is a good chance we will match that

That’s us okay then

No one came in for any of them after finishing 9th, certainly won’t be beating a track to BDTBL to buy em after getting relegated

JoC won’t have proved his fitness and he’s recaptured the form
Berge may go abroad, but he may see a year in champ as best bet to getting another crack at EPL
If anyone wants Rammers after 2 relegations in 2 seasons I’ll book em a D TaxI misen
Egan is only 1 I would be worried about loosing

Any others go not bothered really

In the covid financial climate and their current form I don’t think we’ve got a lad who would command over £10m, and most would be under £5m right now

Exactly
There's nobody except Berge "maybe" that any Premier League club would take.

Our biggest worry is other Championship Clubs. They'll pay more than we will, especially when the wage cuts for relegation have been sorted out.

Because you can bet your life it won't be competitive with the top Championship earners.

That's just the way we roll.

Anyone that plays for us that expects to earn some money and isn't happy with what he's getting can fuck off.

So they do

The time we should have stopped fretting about other teams around us picking up points making our escape harder was about 2 months ago, I think we should now collectively make peace with relegation and move on, and enjoy what we can of the remainder of the season, thanks for the £300m or so prem, I won't miss the diving and shitty VAR, keep the kettle warm as we will be back

Negativity on the internet is bullshit, think of where we've come from. If you're a blade, the manager, a player, a fan, then fight, fight & fight, regardless of what happens this puts our Sheffield United on a better footing.

So where are these so called mega rich Championship clubs going to get their money from to beat us on wages
Havent you noticed theres been no paying customers in grounds for the past 12 months
Gate receipts in the PL are insignificant to a clubs earnings but in the Championship and below are the only significant income (apart from TV money which is not a lot) these clubs have. There will be of course a couple of clubs with parachute payments still but I would think in the current economic situation they would be looking after their money carefully. Fulham may well be fucked if they will be paying £50k per week plus in the Championship

I would imagine those type of players would leave. Didnt Fulham have a massive fire sale last time they went down ?

Burnleys 3-0 win at palace widens the margin to 14 points. We needed wins before today now they are vital to cling on

I admire the optimism blade too long, as much as I think it's misplaced.

For me, it's easier to accept that we are down and enjoy any little comfort I can from any points between now and the end of the season.
Turning the form around in 2021 has been good, but the damage was done before that. I'm glad we won't get less than Derby got and have
had a decent cup run so far, but that's it as far as positives this year.

We need to keep fighting and try to get off the bottom first, then get to 18th and then see how many points we can get. It won't keep us up but it will make us all feel a lot better. In short, we need to just focus on winning against West Sham and go from there.

Yes they did
And had the assets to rebuild to get back up again

Like most clubs that go down, they have a big advantage

Whereas history shows, we go down again because we never have anyone of Premier League quality to bring serious money back into the club.

Any of the 3 can with a good run

We've won 6 of our last 9
Do that in the prem and it puts us on 29 points with 6 to go

Depends how you sell it

We have won 3 of the last 15 prem games
With 15 to go

To get to 35 points we need to win 8 of the last 15

That’s almost last seasons early form

And we’ve been miles off that

Is anyone looking at the pigs plight and saying Wycombe aren’t gone??

And they are closer to safety than we are!!

We needed to start the revival in December, the losses to West Brom & ham were the 2 that we needed to get us going

It makes sod all difference whether I say we’ll win, lose or draw on here. It makes the relentless cheerleaders seem even more pointless if you ask me. Why not just be realistic?

You don’t get extra Bladey Blade points for saying we’ll win when we’ll probably lose or that we’ve been unlucky when we’ve actually been shit.

If you genuinely believe these things then that’s fair enough, but medical help would be a recommendation and maybe reduce the dose of deludamol.

It's not delusion
I've said it looks highly improbable
It would be amazing
But the mathmatecal possibility is still there .
Any team that can win a few on the bounce suddenly can look capable
It's the easy option giving up .saying we are down
We could lose the next 6 then win the last 9 and stay up ..... So there's plenty of time
Depends how brave we are

Bravery isn’t the problem, it’s keeping it out and one end and putting it in at the other that we have issues with.

You saying we can do it and everyone in their right mind saying we won’t will still make sod all difference to the players and management. It’s better to admit that barring a miracle we’re down and have been for a while.

What really gets on my nerves about post like this is its kind of implied that you're not a proper fan if you don't think we're staying up.

We're shite, we have been all season and we're going down, we're not American cheerleaders ffs, people need to give it a rest with the bigger blades shit, you can be a supporter and be realistic were not fans of the MASSIVE club in Sheffield

Another point and clean sheet tonight. Should have taken all 3 oh well. At this stage of the season every point is vital.

Honestly pal, you aren’t even in the realms of being caught by us. Go and troll the Fulham fans if you want a response. We’re dead and buried.

6 games unbeaten at this point in the season is great form. A lot of our fans take the piss out of Brighton, however I’d like to have the spine of the team that you have and you always seem to find the odd signing who chips in around them.

Burnley & Brighton showing not only the fight that 'we can show', but the quality that we do not have. The waste of money on signings is beginning to get to me, & all this talk of they will come good is useless, they were bought to improve us now & they have collectively & individually failed.

The bottom 3 are desperately poor & are nowhere near PL standards. Its about time the PL banned relegation so that 'wannabees' like us will not have our hopes knocked on the occasion that we stumble in there.

Yes, I feel that crap today, we are bottom, heating packed up & we are frozen & dull saints v wolves on TV!

MTLBWY

Think whatever you like

But three teams will be relegated from the Prem, us and two others.

We won't be in the top three wage bills in the Championship

Probably won't be in the top eight

It's just the way we roll, trying to get something for nothing and always ending up with nothing

You're the one seeing an implied slur, yet at the same time seem eager to jump on anyone making any kind of suggestion that we can make it. 5 posts in one and a half pages insisting we're already relegated with the prediction of a "worst ever" followed by a complaint that you're being viewed as someone who isn't a proper supporter.
No one's forcing you to fight the battle against positivity.
What is it about some people that they don't like and don't want to see a fellow fan believing there's still a chance and willing us on? Perhaps if you and the others who jump all over these sort of threads with their "already down" posts can explain their annoyance at people being hopeful, others wouldn't wonder what it is you get out of it.

Looking at points and current form I think it'll take 40 to stay up. No chance

I grant you Fulham will be paying top dollar
West Brom are similar to us
Watford and may still have big earners left on their books but any new signings will be on considerably less
Bournemouth have previous for paying stupid wages in the Championship so will probably do so even though they will break FFP rules

So I would say two possibly three clubs may pay more dont know how you get to the conclusion we wont be in the top eight. I dont think wages are particularly a big issue in the Championship when it comes to success its finding the right players to get out of that league and you can do that without breaking the bank look at Brentford they have always been there or threreabouts
We only have to look accross the city to see paying players high wages in the Championship doesnt always work. We have found out to our cost the PL is entirely different

Are we going to have more of these threads?

Anyone with any sense knew we were down before Christmas and that the situation was irrecoverable.

We've had several, and each time our relative position has actually worsened in the meantime, but still people cling to the idea that you only have to "believe" and it will happen, like those twats on that twattish game show that twat Noel Edmonds used to host, where "positive thinking" was going to have an impact on whatever number was in the fecking suitcase.

All our team can do is try and get as many points as possible in what remains of this stay in the PL. I don't think we'll finish bottom of the league but the idea of staying up is for children.

We are down. I made my peace with this a long time ago. At the moment I just want us us win every game that comes along (but then that's no different to any game or season anyway).

The difference is that I'm usually looking at the league table along with our results to see where we are and what's possible. However at the moment and for the rest of this season I just instantly turn the TV over when the PL table appears. Not interested in the table and I don't need reminding that we are down. I'll look at a league table again (the Championship) in the Autumn to see where we are. I would like us to not finish bottom but at the end of the day we will finish where we deserve to and we all start on 0 points again next season.
