How was that a penalty

Okay we can talk about the poor backpass but how is that a penalty.

Ramsdale made no connection with Werner whatsoever. Werner ran into him and chucked himself over.

Was assured when the ref went over to look at it but what the fuck was he looking at to decide that is a pen. The game is bent

Because it was.

I suppose you also think Wilder should still be in charge and this season is down to one players injury.

It's about time some fans woke up and started to understand that we are absolute shybo, we've wasted over £100m this season, we are going down, and will probably go down again next season when players leave and those who have been bought for stupid money like Brewster continue to be a bag of wank.

Souness agrees with you, and I think you've both got a point

What the hell has those comments got to do with it. Another no nowt no doubt giving an expert opinion on all things blades

I don't get the argument that it is a penalty because there is contact in the box. The Chelsea lad runs into Ramsdale and falls over.

Some will say its a pen as there is contact but to me they are missing the point. Its a penalty if the goalkeeper or defender commit a foul in the box on an attacking player. How can it be a foul when Ramsdales head makes contact with the attackers knee?

It's like saying all any attacking player has to do to win a penalty is to knock the ball into the area and run into the goalkeeper as there is then contact. That's absurd. If he's brought down penalty all day, but he wasn't brought down by the keepers actions. He ran into Ramsdale after knocking the ball past him into no man's land. He bought it and the ref should have been strong enough to go with this own judgement in real time and not give it.

As far the back pass from Bryan... Now that's a different debate. Completely foolish.

I like this theory. Every foul from now on is just a player running into a challenge and chucking himself over as a result of the contact.

Short of disappearing I cannot see what Ramsdale could have done , Werner knew what he was doing going over the keeper because he had knocked it to far !

Maybe the panelists have no understanding of the game just like me. Perhaps some of you should be applying for a job on sky sports as you’re such experts

Welcome back........ have we lost?

The Chelsea manager saying it was a tough game as well,he's obviously as clueless as the panelists.
Abromovich will be watching this forum closely for his next manager.

Penalty for me. Whether you hit them with your hands or your face its always going to be a pen.

Don't blame Ramsdale though.

But how long did it take to give it, what if we had scored between? Does our goal get chalked off? Its bollocks

They have to wait to check VAR. Its not like Cricket or Rugby where there's a stoppage in play every 30s. As the ball didnt go straight out of play it seemed to take an eternity.

But yes, It would've been disallowed and they'd have got a pen

Werner knew he was never getting to the ball so ran into Ramsdale and threw himself down, that's how i saw it. The defender was always getting to the ball 1st. Say's it all to me that Ramsdale wasn't red carded in fact he didn't even receive a yellow. As soon as the ref was summoned to take a look at it you just knew they had said to him give Chelsea a penalty.

Ramsdale went to ground and Werner was hardly going to move around him and stay on his feet. I don’t like the fact it’s a penalty, but it is one. At the other end we’d have tried to stay on our feet and not been given it though.

Don’t be saying that. Too many experts on here will post hilarious pictures of glasses or tell you you’ve got your eyes in the wrong way round

You said there was no contact, there clearly was.

You can debate the penalty if you want but don’t get arsey when people question your opinion, that’s kind of what the forum is for.

Wilder hasn't questioned it. Said we shot our self in the foot. Says Bryan put Ramsdale in trouble.

"Everyone around us thought it was a penalty"

There was no contact, Ramsdale got injured from an accidental clash with an invisible unicorn

very clever by werner yes it was a penalty but he made sure he made contact with ramsdale but what was bryan thinking

Werner tried to run round Ramsdale but Ramsdale's momentum took him out (head to kneee, maybe, but that doesn't matter, he clearly fouled him). Clear pen. Werner wasn't getting the ball but that doesn't really matter.

So McBurnie going down at the other end under pressure from two defenders is not a penalty.
One gets analysed 20 times and the other gets a few seconds worth of air time.

You can see why people see bias.

Not getting arsey I don’t mind people questioning my opinion but posting glasses and telling me I know nothing about the game isnt questioning my opinion. If anyone is getting arsey I think you need to look back a page.

I never said there was no contact so stop making things up. I said it was Werner who made contact with Ramsdale. If you disagree tell me why instead of telling me how I feel

He hasn’t seen the replay though , I thought penalty straight away till I saw the replay !

Of course there is contact. No one can dispute that. What people can debate is who is instigating the contact is it Forward running into Keeper, or is it Keeper running into forward, and is there a clear foul either way. You could argue that it a foil on Ramsdale as their ayer just takes him out. It goes both ways. There is no clear foul instigated by Ramsdale therefore there should have been no penalty given.

We might have lost anyway as I thought we were really off the pace tonight but that's a different story. No one can tell me there is a clear foul committed by Ramsdale in that challenge. He does not purposely bring the forward down.

It probably should have been a penalty on McBurnie, but it would have been soft. The Werner one was much easier to give, mainly because it was for Chelsea and not little Sheffield United.
