Tbh, that's all we can hope for a chance on the last weekend..

Taking a positive as I always try to do, we get relegated after a decent run of late season form we can carry that into next season, a bit of momentum should help us avoid the championship hangover.. Hit the ground running..

I keep having to point this out but there is no Championship hangover.

Norwich lost their last 10 games last season, scoring one goal (and even that was against Watford).

They only won 2 of their last 25 in total. They took 11 points from those 25. That's worse than we are this season!

They spent nothing going up, and were open from the start about the tactic that kicked into place once they hit the bottom, we on the other hand have spent, and by our standards heavily, making a comparison with Norwich is light years away from what we've tried to do at the start of last season..

We've spent to try and stay up, Norwich made no effort... They're taking the parachutes and trying to YO YO for a few seasons.. They were skint, a few cook books and novels from Fry and Delia can't fund premier league football..

Once on an even keel they'll be sold, not that I'm an expert on Norwich..

If we were still in with a chance of staying up on the last day of the season, that would mean that we'd performed heroically to have been able to claw back the points deficit to get in that position and I would take that all day long.

If it was in our own hands and a victory would guarantee PL status I think we could beat any team in the league to stay up.

If we did happen to fail (via a fluke or VAR) then we would take a step down to the Championship and storm back next season.

Norwich are now geared up to be the bully boys of the lower leagues snapping up decent young players either on a free as a category one academy or for small fees from clubs lower down. Off the pitch they’re where we should be aiming to be in around 4/5 years. On the pitch we have the superior manager imo and a more effective way of playing. The big cross roads for Norwich comes this summer when the contract of their director of football Webber is up and he’s making noises about moving on for a fresh challenge.

I hate Norwich as much as anyone, but we have taken precisely 11 points from our last 25 league games.

I think you're right on the Championship hangover thing - I recall WBA having a storming end to their most recent PL relegation (wins against Spurs, Man U and a draw at Liverpool in their last few games), but they didn't exactly storm the Champ the following season.

But... how is what we, or they, spent relevant to whether there is a hangover due to low morale from losing every week?

That’s the thing for them I think you can try and play like Man City in the champ and have lots of success but once you’re promoted and up against far superior technicians it’s over. It doesn’t mean you can’t play good football but you can’t base your game on dominating possession.

I’m not so sure about Farke he’s good at champ level but I’m not convinced about him above that unlike wilder. Webber is by far more integral to Norwich than farke he’s masterminded their transfer strategy brought in the bargains they found and farke himself. Norwich employ a head coach model so it’s the director of football who has control over the direction of the club. He also masterminded Huddersfield’s improbable promotion finding a director of football equal to or better than him will be a hard ask for Norwich.

I'm alluding to other teams that like us fell all the way to league one after recent relegation from the Premier league, its a long enough list to make that point

The hangover I talk about can be avoided a few ways one of them is the Norwich way, avoiding dissapointment by openly saying they weren't investing and rolling the dice, regardless they be financially better off when relegated because they hadn't burdened themselves with transfers and contracts, the players that came down kept thier shirts and were on board with mounting a challenge from the very start of the next season, that's now. And they're top of the championship..

If we can get the players to realise that relegation should be a spring board to hit the ground running and see the positives it'll be better off than the devastating effect of going down and the shit hitting the fan from all directions. Like last time.

A good run of form to take into next season, wouldn't hurt either.

I'd not say we have rolled the dice tbh, especially this January. Norwich were never going to spend because of their massive debt, but our spending last summer can be set against the wxtra year of parachute payments we get for surviving a year in the prem.

We can never be sure, but I'd like to think we're in a financially healthy position when we go down.

Burnley beat Liverpool & Newcastle beat Everton. beat WBA. & brighton beat both spurs & liverpool. with better luck we could've been 8pts off safety.

i think we just need to try & finish 18th. make it look good as considering our 2020 that was would be successful of sorts to not finish bottom. take some great momentum into championship
