Interesting comments here (if legit). We've all suggested it plenty of times and have all got many examples where we've questioned a decision. When he says he's been "told", who is he referring to? As for the bias comment - that's not news at all. I hope something more gets said about this.

The narcissistic wanker is probably hard up and looking for an invite to “I’m a cunt get me out of here” or something. Funny how he never mentioned it at the time.

Honestly, from politics, to the stock markets, to any sport in any league in the world there is manipulation and fraud.

There are always people behind the curtain pulling the puppet strings in all walks of life... nothing really new to see here sadly.

If Premier League refs were made of chocolate they’d eat themselves. Without exception.

They live just to talk to famous footballers and exercise some form of control over them. They’re the kind of people who name drop footballers as their mates, despite the fact that they are disliked by pretty much all of them.

How many PL refs do you know personally, out of interest?

I know an ex-assistant ref who is a brilliant guy (Andy Halliday. I've also had the pleasure of briefly working with a League 1 ref who is a right cock end. (Darren Drysdale)
I worked with a current PL linesman for a couple of years, he was UK&I FD at the time and if you turned up for a meeting with him you expected that the first agenda point was 'Talking about himself for half an hour'. We'd occasionally take the piss out of him for his frequent dodgy decisions but he really didn't like it and would throw his toys out of the pram.

I accept that it's harsh to judge all PL officials on this basis, I just can't get over the arrogant image portrayed by 99.9% of PL officials and the lack of accountability that goes with it.

How can a referee give a certain amount of corners and throw ins in a match... it's out of their control.

Don't know about the above but some of Mike Dean's decisions at OT the other night were unbelievable. Sending a kid off in the 2;nd minute was crazy refereeing and the penalty decision and second red to Southampton player was condemned by all the pundits later on. And this was after he saw it on monitor! Classic case of...." I am right all the time....." Should get Freedom of Manchester that prat.

2nd minute or 88th minute if you go into a tackle like that then you're going to get sent off. 100% correct decision on that occasion in my opinion.

Makes Lundstrums lunge other week look like a kiss on the forehead.

Another one for Ainsleys book “Swallows owt”

With apologies to Arthur Ransome

Uriah Rennie used to go to the same gym as my old man when I was a wee snapper. Had such an amazing personality.

Having spoken to two or three people who refereed at low levels and thought about working up, I honestly can't understand why anyone well adjusted would want to do it. Just my speculation but there's probably a selection bias there.

Kid or not going in knee high at force with studs showing is a red card at any point of the game. The second red was indeed harsh but you really can’t argue with the first.

There's no exception in the rules for it being early in a game or if you're young. It was a horrible challenge. The second one's tough because he goes down so easily but if it's a foul then it has to be a red card.

He's not a current ref, he was a decent bloke by all accounts. Slightly before the 'celebrity' refs started to come onto the scene.

One of the Sunday league refs we had used to tell stories of the size of Uriah's cock, he reckons he reffed some regional cup finals back when Rennie was a youngster and they used to share a dressing room.
