We’re reliant on ourselves to get the points, we’re not bottom because of what others are doing, we’re bottom because of what we’ve not done.

Always focus on what we do rather than relying on others to drop points, same at the top, same at the bottom.

It's a bold call from Ian Wright. I see he's got pelters from it from all directions, probably not surprisingly.

We CAN still stay up. Personally I think it's a monumental ask, and I think we will possibly fall agonisingly short, in the order of 1 or 2 points, and all be thinking "what if we'd started playing a couple of games earlier," but you never know.

Certainly the last 2 games have made me think that we will at least go down fighting, and maybe put ourselves in a better position to hit the ground running in the Championship than if we went down on 14 points or something like that.

Whilst I am happy with the upturn in performances and results, we probably have a 5% chance of staying up from where we are now. Not impossible but improbable.

I’d be happy with catching WBA first, we aren’t the worst team in the league.

That 27 points would put us on 35 & with a shout. We would almost certainly have to beat all of the teams immediately above us to ensure we closed the gap & picked up some results elsewhere.

It's not impossible, but it's highly, highly unlikely that we can be that efficient from where we've come from.

Typical really. You need luck to stay up. Playing Spurs without Kane is just that. There is a huge drop off when he doesn't play. Why couldn't he gave got injured next week or the week before we played them?

Our problem is that we haven't even been eeking out draws. It's just been defeat after defeat.

I'm afraid them winning and that pretty useless Newcastle team winning is a massive kick in the balls.

You can pretty much forget about everyone else if you can get to one point per game.

Would have to win every home match and one away. That would be obscene form.

That's the issue. Fair chance we catch West Brom & maybe even Fulham.

But to bridge that next gap we have to better Brighton's results by 13 points or Burnley / Newcastle's by 14 points.
Those three teams are inconsistent, none are consistently poor enough to do what we need.

I still stand by my belief that Newcastle are just as awful as us and West Brom but they win these odd games every season that keeps them up. People may say there must be some skill involved but it's more likely that Bruce is in contact with Uri Gellar

Love Wrighty's optimism, and I dont think we will finish bottom by a long stretch.

Pretty confident we will finish comfortably above West Brom and Fulham, but.... cant see us catching Brighton.

Only way we stay up is if Newcastle have a 2nd half of the season to match our first. (Anything is possible with that lot)

What the result at Manchester shows us, and both performances, we have a chance in the FA Cup if we get a favorable run.

If you can best Man U away, then to me that says you are capable of beating anyone left in the competition aside perhaps Man City.

Knowing our luck we will go on a good run and end up getting relegated on the last day of the season, by goal difference. The deciding goal being a last minute fumble by Ramsdale, following a header back by Norwood.

A lot of ‘woe is us’ here. Amongst other things, that was a big part of the problem in the first half of the season. Thinking that “we’re unlucky” becomes self fulfilling.

Forget other teams’ results. We can only control what happens in our games. Focus on that, stay positive and give it all we’ve got. It might save us, it might not. But whatever happens, the right kind of positivity will set us up with momentum for next season.
