It's still unlikely but if you step back and look at what we've done in January - we look more than capable of winning games against anyone. There's definitely a wave of belief sweeping through the players and even CW.

I'm not ready to pull out the 'must win' card yet but the game against WBA is huge. If we beat them, it's on. It will still be very difficult no doubt, but all the players, all the staff, and plenty of us will nonetheless believe that it is on.

I think 35 points would be enough (it has been for the last 4 years) as for where they come from, I think WBA and Fulham are ‘must win games’ and Brighton is a must get something game.

We also need the top 6 to beat everybody in the bottom half, so still a big ask, but on this months performance, very doable.

17 games. A lot can happen in 17 games.

It's just a shame the gap to Brighton is so big, and they could increase it tomorrow. Could have done without Newcastle winning today as well but hey ho.

To pull this off we will need to win 3 or 4 on the bounce twice, between now and the last few games, and hope that one of the above keeps losing. That might give us a sniff at the climax of the season.

When we don't win we will also need to be hard as fuck to beat, and grind out a few draws.

This week has given me a lot of hope.

I think it's crazy we've been so bad as to be this far gone, and it's crazier still that we're somehow not completely out of the fight. It's a long shot, and anything but a win in the next game just about seals it, but as long as there's a chance we might as well go down swinging.

If we carry on in the same vein as the last couple of games we'll still not stay up but we might just win the cup. I'd take that everyday of the week, bring home the FA cup and get relegated from the cesspit league.

I don't think we can stay up, but I think we can do something really positive over the next few months. Teeing ourselves up for a good Championship campaign is a very realistic proposition now, as is a very good cup run.

We're just trolling the Premier League by losing almost all of our games in the first half of the season, only to piss the second half, thereby showing how much contempt we have for the rest of the division.

I’ve just got round to watching MOTD and seen what Wrighty had to say.

Love him or hate him, he has been complementary about the Blades for the last 2 seasons and has an amazing depth of knowledge about the game.

I admire the optimism lads but all it will take for it to come crashing down is a Brighton win today. We are on a tightrope where to stay up we have to win all our games and expect everyone around us to lose every game. It won’t happen.
that said we need to focus on one game at a time and see what happens. But it would be unprecedented if we got out of this.

We're reliant on Brighton and Newcastle too much. But I've said all season (check back through my posts), we will finish above wba and fulham

We are 10 behind Brighton who we still have to play at home. Their last 2 are Liverpool at home and Arsenal away.
Our last 2 are away at Newcastle and home v Burnley.
There's a potential 9 point swing there.

After we beat Man Utd Jason Cundy on Talksport was also saying we feels we could stay up.
Andy Goldstein was winding Cundy up saying “how can anyone predict Sheff Utd will stay up must be mad”

Cundy explained that he’s not predicting we stay up however when a team only is so far adrift at the bottom normally we would say they are down
but he said re rates Wilder and Sheff Utd have already shown what they can do.

He said it wouldn’t be the biggest shock to him if we stay up.....saying it’s not over and we do have a chance
but then he said if he was a betting man he still things we’ll go down and laughed.
