Are we missing something?
What’s the green zone?
His hand was above his head, hit the forearm, even at normal speed it was clearly visible

So what’s the law?

Def a penalty under the rules but I'm not even convinced Ampadu's shot was actually on target.

It's not hand ball if you look at it again the defender just has a very round and very white face

I loved the commentators saying his arms were in a natural position. Who walks about with both arms above their head? Fucking donkey Kong!

When you have VAR combined with a worthless cunt like Lee Mason, nothing is surprising.

VAR RULEBOOK Section 2348765, paragraph 4 states......if player is playing against a team in red and white from the area of South Yorkshire, whilst mimicking another sport ( volleyball, basketball etc) whilst dressed in a green jersey and partaking in a 3pm kickoff then it will be deemed no handball

If it touches on or above the line of the short sleeve VAR says it’s his shoulder. It’s the rule that’s daft - but the image suggests that the decision is correct by the letter of the current rule.

Interesting thing is that it was right on the limit, and I reckon if he’d had long sleeves they’d have given a pen!

But let’s forget the officials - our first touch and final ball are League 1. Billy and Bash are the only 2 on the pitch with any real commitment - maybe Ampadu as well. The Irish 2 are on a different planet - Bogle and Brewster are playing with their mates for a bit of fun, Fleck is trying to convince himself he cares and Norwood is so slow on and off the ball that there is moss on his boots! Lunny is pretending to try,but isn’t really sure what he cares about at the moment

Almost everyone if some fucker blasted a ball at your face from 6yds away!

Under the old rules of common sense I would say no penalty, on the basis the arms are in a natural position (see above), and had he not put his hands there it would have taken his napper off and gone for a corner anyway, not like it was a diving save etc

However under new rules it’s blatant, far more obvious than the one vs Newcastle
