Well done Micky, in just a few short weeks you have turned us into a pub team. Tonight was absolutely garbage. I dont buy this bad luck business. As soon as we stop playing at 100 miles an hour we will be losing by 3 or 4. That side is now totally devoid of any skill whatsoever. Monty as the play-maker.... Willo on the wing where hes ineffective -wtf?????

We are not a big enough side to mix it.... we are not a fit enough side to run the opposition into the ground.... we have no pace in the side whatsoever.... and a goalkeeper who wouldnt get into the Red Lion's 2nd team. Yep, we are going down make no mistake about that. For all those who remember 1979/80 season, dig out your old shirts boys cos its retro time down at the lane.

That is the worst Blades side in at least the last 23 years.

I stopped reading there. That was a comedy classic. What with us being the Arsenal of the North before he arrived. And being awash with cash to push on from there.

Hes a very poor mans Blackwell im afraid. Hes a hoooooooooooooooooof with no end result. That side will get passed left right and centre away from home. You keep kidding yourself though ok. I'm dreading playing the pigs next season.

Casper, you should post on here more often. With insight like that you'll get 10 green bars of rep in no time!

I'd say the fact that we have created far more chances in the last few games than probably Blackwell and Speed side did all the early part of the season says he's far from a poormans Blackwell.

The team was already shit prior to his arrival, so how the fuck is it his fault?
We already had no pace, we already had a shit keeper, and we have fuck all money wise to truly address those problems, without millions we can't buy good wingers, never mind great, or good keepers, he's tried to bloster our main problem the shite defense, but that takes an incredible ammount of time and frankly its something we don't have because of poor management and signings from that very first half of the season. This rings down at the upper levels of the club as well as the managers and coaches, we've made too many poor decisions and they're having massive reprecussions now.

As of tonight, we made one of the form teams of the division look shit, we weren't great, we weren't special, but they struggled with all aspects of our game, Hoof as you call it and general passing. Simmo was stupidly on his six yard box when he didn't need to be for their goal, he blamed the poor defending, when he was as much as fault for gifting Leciester an easy goal with poor positioning. Willo has been played out right before, I agree it doesn't work, we looked far more dangerous when he moved to the centre midfield position. I alsoe think Leciester were saved by great keeping tonight and they had a good bit of luck on their side tonight. Sadly thats what happens when you are down there.

I thought we played well.
Agreed with all the comments above. Its not his fault he has been left with these players to work with is it?
I thought he should have been given more support from McCabe in the Transfer market than he has been.

Im sick of saying we played well but..........

Spot on Casper lad, spot on. We're a woeful side and we play woeful football and the manager, any manager has to take some blame for that.

No one said that we're the "Arsenal of the North", no one said we were "awash with cash", but of course that's a typical response of some, if you dare to criticise anything to do with the mighty Blades. Your inference that we still play like a pub team, where the concentration is on running and scuffing around rather than trying to get the ball down and playing is on the money. We play an aimless game and will get very few points playing this way and the manager must take some of the blame for that. OK he inherited a complete crock of shit of a squad but still, he can try to get them playing in a different manner than the way we are approaching games.

Four minutes in last night and it was game over, that's not bad luck, it's predictable and it's got relegation stamped all over it.

But Leicester were worse than us last night for most of the match. They've spent big money, attracted the sort of players that we can only dream of and a manager with real pedigree (recent years excluded) and they still spent most of the game on the back foot.

There was no way in hell we deserved to lose that game, I'm not saying we played brilliantly or even at a decent standard but we were the better team by far. The way the game is played in this division leaves players with little time on the ball and unfortunately our lads lack that little bit of composure and confidence to make the right snap decision where a player on form would do that.

For me the effort and commitment was there and that's what I want to see first and foremost from the players, Ched espeicially is starting to show his potential and it's a pity that the runs he makes aren't spotted and that he has to drop too deep to get the ball at time.

This approach will win us games and should have got us three points yesterday. Whilst the manner we conceded might have been predictable rather than bad luck as you say, the following 90 minutes of football were just about as unlucky as a club can get.

we were the best team..we should have this..we should have that.. we lost.. again.

Good post Mr Flo, sums it up well.

One thing that came to mind last night was the fact of how far behind the Prem are the teams in the Championship. Leicester and us should be putting on a better show than that last night.

Clubs like Leicester with a bit of money [we were just as bad under Robbo when we splashed the cash] are so far off the quality of the Prem that it makes me worry about the future of the game. Who are the players in the Championship who would walk into a Prem team. There aren't that many?

Watching our division is like watching the old 3rd/4th divisions at times. I watched the Bury game on Friday and thought it served up more quality than we saw last night.

12:44 am? Someone's been on the pop and thought it was a good idea to fire up the Commodore 64 ;)

I have to say in the OPs defence me and the lads did all say and ask each other why we were playing at a hundred miles an hour and rushing everything and why we seemed unable to deal with a side whos only tactic was to throw out from the keeper to the full backs .

Last night was all huff and puff and I honestly thought we didnt really ever have them scared shitless

So just sit back and accept it all Brammers, you and Shitwell must be as happy as can be right now because you still can't bring yourselves to see our current plight as a negative.

Oh, unless Quinny's playing of course and then old Reaperman pisses his pants ;)

ok now that the dust has settled i can see things a bit more objectively. Of course, with a rub of the green we could have scored a goal or 2 last night, but does anybody believe that Leicester would have just sat back and let us tickle their belly? They did what they had to do and defended a 1-0 against a team with no ideas or hope apart from belting the ball aimlessly into the box. I have no doubt had we scored they were more than capable of stepping up and getting more themselves. The few chances they had they should have scored more. what i am saying is that blades side has well and truly been reduced to a team of one dimentional hoofers, with our only hope of success is if a ball hits somebody on the arse and falls to a blade for a tap in. Yep, we will undoubtable win some games by doing that but over the course of 20 games or so, it aint the answer. Yes, endevour, passion, commitment IS required, but you also need that little bit of nouse every now and again to find that final ball or do summat just that little bit different that in the end means the difference between success and failure.

We have set our stall out now, man for man that team would not be in the top 6 of league 1. We were never the Arsenal of the north, but under Carver we saw some passion AND a little skill. We are now totally one dimentional.

I thought Hoofball was to be our short-term salvation? SOD was too risky! Our points return under MA is competely unacceptable.

Everyone knows that Willo is uncomfortable and ineffective on the right. He is our best central midfielder yet he is forced out of position because the manager lacks the bottle to drop the £14000 a week resource-draining non-footballer.

MA - Time to end the humiliation - Stop selecting The Maestro, Elpiton, Kozjoke and Cresswell immediately. Let's at least give football a chance before we call it a day!

Casper has it spot on: We're heading for all-out Hoof for the rest of the season. Are you watching Mr. Birch? Is this what you had in mind?

What are you doing for the next 3 years Pembo? We could do with a hand.

amen.. it's so blindingly obvious it beggars belief..
at least we won't get relegated under MA like we would have under SoD.. umm.. hold on a minute

It's an interesting question.

The difference in what I saw at the Youth Cup game last week and what was being served up last night was unbelievable. I cannot, for one minute, see any of the lads being groomed through the U18's being in any way suitable for the sort of game being played last night.

If, as Farty Bob has often said, we are going for a "cradle to grave" production line approach, then it is in no way obvious right now. We are either heading for a confrontation of styles between the two factions or the academy is seen as a way of producing players to sell on and never bother the first team set up.

I was far less convinced last night than I was against Norwich, which may be down to Bent not really doing as well and therefore our work in the final third looking a lot less convincing, but it could equally be down to a poor early goal against inducing panic (and eventually desperation).
Not good last night in my view.

It makes me smile, I am happy with all the passion I see here, and I have no doubt it is all genuine, but I would ask how can our current predicament be Mickey Adams fault? I thought we lacked any 'sparkle' last night but you cant fault the players for their endeavour and effort. The fact they really arent good enough isnt MA's fault. He has been dealt a rubbish hand by the 'professional management 'at the lane. Any blame falls full square on the shoulders of Mr Mccabe.

Nice one Pinchy. I fear that if we don't bring Williamson inside to replace Monty and bring in at least one decent winger our fight against relegation may be over sooner than we all would like.

Pinchy, serious question who can play left back instead of Kozzy? I don't think we have anyone, and although he wasn't great last night I don't believe he was awful either, certainly not as bad as Mattock had been up to being injured.

I think its about time we got our boots on and went down to the lane for a trial. :)

Shitwell ?,how did you manage to think that one up ,did you get a bit of wee in your pants while posting that tough guy ?

The whole team were fantastic last night. Gave everything and the proverbial bit more. We completely outclassed a team full of Premiership players who only had one clear chance all game. Everything else they tried was quashed. More of the same please (apart from conceding the goal and failing to score). It's easy this football management.

PMSL, you're a funny man :D I thought it up because you're very naughty, simples ;)

Aww, you stole my part about pissing your pants, how twee bless you :clap::clap:
