Was just about to say this. Burnley went down, bounced back up and had more money to stay up the second time. They also went up when we didn't in 2009 which was a better background than spending 6 seasons in league one where Chris Wildr took us from.

They've done well, but as I've also pointed out countless times it helps when you have a wage budget of £17m or whatever it is, and ours is £3.5m from the article I posted recently. That's a hug difference. They spent £15m on Chris Woods about three years ago and at that time that was a huge fee, not like now where its much more commonplace for those figures.

Still 19 games left. Keep the faith. Hopefully we sign Lingard and the return of O'Connell next month could make the difference. Also Newcastle are crap especially without Saint Max and Brighton are bang average.

always rated woods when he was at leeds mind think hes on 90k a week we cant match those figures although we should have had jay rodriguez for a cut price 5m instead we payed 20m for ollie mcburnie 😳😳😳

He’s already he said he doesn’t fancy it so I can’t see the point of him coming. A) we’re down anyway so there’s absolute 0 point in spending stupid amounts on his wages to get him here and b) even if we were still in with a shout, he doesn’t fancy a relegation battle so he’d be exactly the opposite of what we need in that situation.

He would give even less of a shit if he came now.

If we had a striker on loan last season who scored 20 goals, then lost him and say Basham, good as Bash is, would our miss be felt most up top or at the back?

Hendo gave the whole team confidence, they knew they could bomb on and more times than not a break away wouldn’t result in a goal
We sit back to protect Ramsdale, problem is he is so out of form, or not good enough depending on your view that it has changed the whole dynamic of the team.

JoC is a big miss, but games are won or lost by goals, our problem is we aren’t competitive in either of these areas

No he doesnt. Not at all. Wilder signed Ramsdale & wont drop him. If Wilder stays he should get 10 games at start of next season & if we’re not top should be sacked. & yes I mean it,no i’m not a pig. I think Wilder should have been sacked after 10 games this season.
 
It’s not inconceivable that the team who finishes 3rd from bottom could be a good 20 points better off than us.

Burnley maybe awful to watch, but they’ve got the brawn and the brain to give Liverpool a game.......and beat them. In sharp contrast, the way seem to approach game’s against the top six, is nothing short of cowardice.
 
Seeing Liverpool and Klopp (potentially) implode this season, may be scant comfort for our plight, but I will take anything I can.

As much as I dislike ManU, it would be quite funny if they won the title again this year, if only to re-assert their historic superiority in the competition, just as the Scousers thought they had snatched the crown. The one time Liverpool did it, and noone was there to watch it live.

Then again, it's hard to see us ever getting anywhere near either of them consistently. Christ almighty, we have ballsed up a momentous opportunity this season.
 
Feel a bit deflated after the result, I'm sure others do also, but on the other hand in a way why do I, we're so far off the pace it probably won't matter. Maybe it's because last season that was the type of result we were getting. If we hadn't done so well last season, say we'd just scraped to stay up, then maybe this season would be easier to take. Fair play to Burnley, whether they're ugly to watch or not they get results.

It's not getting relegated that bothers me, because I accepted that a few weeks ago, maybe even longer. I stopped telling other fans to be positive because ultimately no one can blame anyone for being negative or critical. I may not agree with slamming Rammers as an example, I feel he'll come good. But its just the rest of this awful season and having to watch us limp to 10 - 15 points. There's going down and then there's humilation. I digress from Liverpool v Burnley but somehow this result reminds me of how far we've dropped from last season.

What have you seen in Ramsdale that makes you think he'll come good? I don't even see him doing the basics well.

And, did I mention an excellent manager who never seems to make a bad buy & gets the best out of his team?

Dyche has done a excellent job but Burnley's record signing at 15 million is Ben Gibson who's played a total of 1 league game. Vydra cost 10 million and been a bench warmer at best.
