The goals were down to bad marking from the set pieces however I know what you mean it’s the little things he needs to better with his distribution etc but I’d expect his confidence to be low surely he can only get better

Give Verrips a chance and some of the youngsters need to be on the bench, nevermind only naming 5 subs cos of injuries, name 9 and put 4 youngsters on there, give them a confidence boost, god knows they need it!!

Ramsdale can be a great keeper but he’s not that ATM

I see a lot of people say Ramsdale can be a great keeper, but I just wonder on what basis? What have people seen to support this view? I'm sure he can be better than he currently is, but he's currently an accident waiting to happen. He's too short, doesn't get anywhere near shots that most other PL keepers either save or come closer. Their first today for example, not saying most keepers would have saved it but most would have gotten a lot closer than he did.

He's nervous, is making mistakes, errors of judgement (see effort on left wing today), kicking is poor and the most routine of catches seem like an effort, some of which take 2 attempts. That isn't PL standard goalkeeping I'm afraid.

Can we fucking stop the witch hunt ! We won a game of football, neither goal was Ramsdales fault , Wilder sees Verrips regularly we don’t and Stegosaurus wants him in so get off his back ! He’s not shit , he’s not the best in the world granted but he’s the best we’ve got so cut him some slack ! Maybe just maybe when JOC is back or the defence becomes more solid like it used to be he with become more confident and become a better keeper . At the end of the day he’s an international goalkeeper, chosen by people who know a lot more than us !

Goalkeepers need competition. They need to know that there’s someone knocking on the door.

Tracey and Kelly were brilliant but I’d bet they’d have been less impressive if they hadn’t been with us at the same time. The competition was fierce then and they knew if they played badly or got sent off, they might be on the bench a while.

Ramsdale is a worry for me. The OP is right he worries the defence 100%. I do believe he’ll get better with confidence and fans behind him though. He’s a decent shot stopper and good with his feet, needs to sort his distribution out. The thing is he’s our keeper not on loan so let’s back him.

Ramsdale is 6ft 2in, so not "too short" like some on here believe. He is also 22 years of
age, very young for a goalie.

He will drop a cross every game.. Did again today.. He also sometimes seems to be miles away from the ball when it goes in like their first today... I'm no goalkeeping coach but it just seemed like his starting position was wrong

Yes Verrips should have played today, Ramsdale is lacking confidence, it is written all over him. He was not to blame in any way for the goals today however his appearance at LWB any any other time he is called upon in a similar way it becomes panic time. He is young, yes but I think he too would appreciate a game where he is not under the spotlight.
