Weak way to leave resigning. Either get us out of this mess and plan for the future or accept sacking if it comes. Resigning shows mental weakness in my opinion and a lack of self belief.
It also saves the club money and therefore could be considered selfless.

None of us know how Chris really feels. He's only human and never experienced this kind of run in his entire career.

Yes, I do think a massive reason he’s still here is it would cost us a lot to sack him and employ someone else. I’m pretty much ready and resigned to the fact that Wilder is going. I just don’t know who we get in and I fear we’ll go foreign.

We aren’t coming straight back up end of, we’re not good enough.

If wilder stays it’s gonna take a couple of years to rebuild.

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. rather than get rid of Wilder has got some of the qualities we need long term Knill has shown some qualities we need along side Wilder But why not bring in another coach to freshen things up and work with Wilder I know alot will slag me off but if they are pals why not ask Eddie Howe to work with us for the next six months or until he gets another job NOT AS A WILDER REPLACEMENT
Ridiculous suggestion

Chris - You’re not doing good enough so I want a better manager to work with you and teach you how to manage

Eddie - You’re not good enough to replace chris so work along side him?

I bet both would take that well to be fair

Ricky Holmes, Ryan Leonard, Callum Robinson, Lake Freeman, Oli Mcburnie, Ryan Brewster, Lisa Moussett, Jayden Bogle, Max Lowe, Olli Burke, Arron Ramsdale, Osborne: well over £120million & can any body honestly say any of these players have been anything above mediocre.

Hate to say it but a lot of major signings have been shocking.

This is where I am. I don’t want Chris Wilder to get the sack. I feel he does deserve a chance to build another team with us. But if I woke up in the morning and Wilder was gone. I really don’t think I’d be too dismayed.

There’s a few missing on there from the league one days too. We can’t really moan about those days though. I think it shows that you can get away with bad signings in the lower leagues and move on to the next due to low fees paid.

In the premiership you’re paying big fees and they need to work pretty much immediately.

If Chris goes I honestly cannot think of anyone who will get us out of this mess or do a better job next season

No one will get us out of the mess this season. We need to build for next season starting with this transfer window

Can’t see him quitting. Pretty much wrote his own contract, not giving that cash up when so long left on his contract. Probably happy to be pushed!

I want Wilder to have another crack at it in the Championship but I can’t see how that can happen given current performances. There’s no way the players will believe in him (or themselves) if we continue to be so poor.
He changes the personnel every week but the system remains the same and is ineffective with the current players available.
I don’t understand why he doesn’t try something (anything!) different to try and stop the rot. We’ve got nothing to lose. Unless the plan is to lose by a narrow margin every week.
The scorelines might be close but the gulf in class is evident to anyone who watches the games. We’re incapable of creating chances in our current guise.

I’m really struggling to understand the gaffer at present - I thought he was a man willing to be ruthless and swift in his actions when standards dropped and performances unacceptable...but a fear I may have been wrong

Do you think there is a different manager that would save us from the drop?

While getting out the Christmas trimmings I found an old original play station in the loft along with Tomb Raider, Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot.

I fancied revisiting my youth so I set it up and turned it on, fuck all happened.

I haven’t got a clue how to fix it, but I know its broke and I know turning the switch on and off and shouting at it won’t make a difference, nether will sentiment loyalty or knowing that it worked in the past.

Sheffield United is broke and if getting shut of Wilder will fix it, then let’s just get on with it.

I can't think of any that would have got less points than Wilder this season.

Himself and the long serving players unfortunately started to believe the media hype about themselves. Handing out nice contracts to his favourite players. No room for standing still, sentiment etc was his mantra but his signings and tactics since lockdown return have been pretty dreadful. Giving players like Morrison, Rodwell, and Jagielka contracts.

I wouldn't trust this manager with another penny from the club coffers.

I think what this league has proven is that you can’t get away with bad signings. When you strip the game back to no fans behind closed doors games players with and without the natural ability shows more.

Our players feed off the fans passion and commitment, but they’re not technically or skilfully great players and it’s showing now.

I think regardless of whose in charge if we as a fan base back the next manager we can play a huge part in getting this club back to the Premiership.

The time comes in everyone's management career when its time to go. Chris has reached the end of the line. He can no longer get a tune out of what he's got. He gets a sound but its awful. Use this week to get Jags in as a caretaker, possibility even to the end of the season with a mission to get to 12 points. Long term, seek out Eddie Howe and ask him if he's up for it in 2021/22.
Failing Howe, Marco Silva.

Marco Silva one of the most over rated managers out there. Is Jagielka destined to be a manager? It’s a hard task going from player to interim manager. Listened to Gerry Taggert on under the cosh who took over a few games in similar circumstances and said he literally didn’t have a clue what he was doing as he had no experience.

I don’t want Wilder to be sacked if plan B is Jagielka then Silva. I’d rather keep Wilder, careful what you wish for.

Fair comments....But who out there is free? Howe must be kicking his heels watching tv. The princes reps need to give him a call tonight and give him the satnav details.

Why would he resign and get nothing instead of being sacked and get a couple of million? No way he's going to walk
