I have to disagree. Ben Osborn was terrible. Brewster is a young lad who shouldn't be in our first team yet.
Mate if you believe the latter tje obvious.wuestoon is why did Wilderbpay 20m+ for him ?

I thought Brewster was huffing and puffing and was no worse than our other attackers, even though he (again) spent a lot of time in wide areas. I don't mind 3-4-3, but we don't really have the personnel for it. It's a waste of him.

Osborn was dreadful.

i cant disagree. we have gone from signings teams best player (league one days) to signing players from worse teams than us that arent even in the top 5 players (Osborn, Robinson, Lowe)

Osborn was terrible, runs around a lot but passing is awful gave it away most times.
Brewster was awful aswell.

Robinson and Osborn are fine to fill places in a squad for a small outlay.

the issue is they are now playing as everyone else is either gash or injured.

I never said it was a good signing. We needed midfielders and better cover at the back but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

All the players we’ve signed are average championship ones.
We should of kicked on in the summer and added some real quality, but instead we went shopping in the mid table championship section.

He was above average for me, which was a big improvement from the Everton game.

Still if we continue with him and Ampadu in midfield, we'll be murdered by better teams...

I didn't see it.. He gave the ball away or passed it backward every time he had it.. He tries but he's not up to playing centre mid in the Premier league

For what it’s worth I thought today was a sign of progression from Brewster today. We’re asking him to do the things which were the negatives on him when he came out of Liverpool and fundamentally the reasons why he was available and not playing consistent first team minutes. The issues on him were that his work rate was low, he didn’t link play well and hadn’t developed the physicality to cause problems for prem centrebacks. Today we asked him to drop deep link play and track back things he doesn’t too well and there were flashes there a few times he tracked back to cover for the wingbacks especially Stevens. He linked well at times with Didzy and was unlucky not to score. Ran with the ball from deep at times beating players on the dribble and causing problems and should’ve drawn more fouls than he got.

That said he was wasteful at times aswell ran down some blind alleys and had some poor touches all of which led to him being caught in possession. It wasn’t flawless by any means but it was progress and hopefully a sign he’s working on his deficiencies.

In a side playing to his strengths and creating chances for him inside the box he’ll look very good.

On the flip side of the coin is ampadu who has flashed some really good performances notably against Liverpool but I’m not seeing any development from him and I’m not sure what he is as a player. He makes far too many positional mistakes to play as a centrehalf and is dominated in the air. However in centre mid he seems to lack to quality on the ball to dictate play and the speed of thought to break the press. For his sake and ours I’d be tempted to send him back as he isn’t what we need right now and we’re probably not what he needs.

Thats the problem. Our midfield comprised of a reserve wing back and a reserve right sided centre half. Forget the price tag for a moment and Brewster was our best striker (which didn't take much doing)

He showed for the ball and was more positive with his pressing.

Sadly that's his ceiling I'm afraid.

Yep. Putting in a 6/10 performance should make him one of our worst performers. However, that put him amongst the best - which is kind of my initial point.

No way should he be anywhere near our first team, but that's where we are!

To be fair to Brewster, he looks like he wants to play around the box but he’s been making runs all season and getting no delivery. If Leicester decided to play Vardy in midfield and win his own headers from long balls instead of being played in, I think he’d look a very different player. Our issue is that we have no one generating pace on the ball and delivering passes in the final third. Norwood could ping it when he had time on the ball but he’s being pressed and so plays deeper and deeper causing him to be anonymous. The rest are just woeful. Brewster will come good when we build a midfield that can play to his strengths.

This he’s a penalty box player who’s working on improving the rest of his game. Our midfield made me genuinely sad tonight having witnessed such great units in recent years.

Ben Osborn is a left footed Nick Montgomery, only he's less effective.
