When a team we concedes so much possession like we do , it’s fucking obvious the defence and yes the keeper are gonna be put under so much more pressure. If our front men caused more problems for the opposition and we stopped given it away in midfield so easily. That would help Ramsdale right there.

1st one stay in your line and have time to react or close the player down and close the angles

Blaming him for the first is a bit harsh. He could have made it harder but Rashford took it really early and struck it cleanly.

The second makes me angry because he basically copped out of the challenge. Turned his body away from the ball and took his eye off it. If he'd kept his concentration on the ball he takes it easily, regardless of the miskick. Extremely poor.

The third, well, I've said it before but he dives funny. It's not straight down it's kind of up and down and so the ball went under him. I have no idea why he dives like this. It means it takes longer for him to get down. Granted, going straight down is more likely to cause an injury, so it might be him subconsciously protecting himself? Who knows.

We should bring that Dean Henderson in on loan, he looked good last night!

I don't think it's wise bringing someone in tbh. The piss poor goalkeeping recruitment over the last few years means we have two league 1 standard keepers and a keeper who is wholly inexperienced. So, we're a bit short on options. We could take a punt and Verrips and it could go horribly wrong, bring in a short-term loan and destroy Ramsdale's confidence even more or carry on and hope for the best.

In a perfect world, there would be a quality longterm keeper signing just hanging around waiting for us to sign him. Because we do need a number 2, at the very least.

Alan Hodgkinson recommended a certain Peter Schmeichel to SrAlex all those years ago.

Perhaps someone should make a phone-call to him with a request to give Rammers some one-on-one coaching.

Rammers could then become a very good goalie IMO.

At the moment he's struggling as are most of the team and I really feel for him as he's our very last line of defence behind a colander of a defence.

1st one gets belted, as we now know. Rashfords one touch control and shot was superb. Another striker would be running on with the ball, in which case we would be saying Rammers should have come out.
He's not perfect, and makes errors, but he isn't the problem. He needs to improve, as most do.

Verrips is massive (6 ft 5 I think) and seemed to have a decent record in the Belgian league

It's the opposite of Warnock, he loved his strikers, CW seems to love goalkeepers.

Keep Ramsdale, we spent a lot on him and if we do go down he'll be a great asset.

Why will he ? If you drop bollocks on a regular basis it doesn't matter what league your playing in.

Another Keeper purchase wouldn't make any sense, surely Verrips is worth a try - he can’t be any worse than Ramsdale, who was very ordinary before his loss of confidence. All in all it’s a mess especially when you consider that we are also paying Foderingham a wage - yet another player Chris signs but doesn’t fancy...

When you say ordinary BC, do you mean since he joined us or when he was with the Cherries ?, because he seemed to be highly thought of down there.

Having looked at this again I'm inclined to agree on the first, if he's further back he's got a good chance of saving it... I think his positioning has been a bit suspect on a few goals this season.. The header against wolves springs to mind

What is clear to see is the defence have zero confidence in him

I've said a few times on various platforms that Henderson was far more than just a goalkeeper for us. He had an arrogance, confidence and general presence that gave us such a boost. People have shot me down when I've said that. I haven't got anything against Ramsdale but its very clear he doesn't bring the same qualities and its hit us hard. He's not the single factor, but I do believe if we had Henderson we wouldn't be as bad off as we are today.

We have spent big on Ramsdale but I dont think he's the answer. I cant see Wilder ditching him.

Yes. Ramsdale is awful. A 10 year old would have saved the third. He lacked decisiveness with the 2nd and the first seemed saveable if he could dive properly instead of just flopping.

If anybody is in any doubt. our resident shit stirring Pigosaurus is adamant we bin Ramsdale.

Obviously Rammers needs the backing of genuine Blades then, if we don't want another George Long scenario. That was one of my recent all time Unitedite lows, where a promising young keeper is hounded out of the club by knobheads.

Ramsdale is VERY lucky he hasn't got the Kop up his arse for all the errors he's making. Very disappointed with him. Looks quite capable of increasing our goals against by 40 this season single handedly.

Clean strike, past him before he even moved.

Second, again exposed 1 on 1.... 5th time this happened in the first half. Had martial hit cleanly hed have saved it, unlucky.

He was the poorer of the 2 tonight, but he fake dives and shithouses...so hes better.
