...that having been relegated at the end of the season, we’ll bounce back in a season or so? I’d very much like to see that happening, but don’t quite understand as to why this would be the case. The team that got us up was a cohesive unit with a fighting spirit, Billy and Didzy banging in the goals. All that will be three seasons back as our other senior players performed as well. And who says that McB, Brewster, Burke etc. would be noticeable better? Sure the first two have scored goals for Swansea in the Championship, but were their teams set up as ours? And what about the aging core of the team, being three years older that the last time… (?) Errhh, will players like Lowe really replace them? Add to that, I should think that the likes of Berge and Egan will be sold. If that was the case, surely we’d have a definitely poorer squad than the one that got us up to the PL the season before the last. Someone here highlighted the gap between Championship and PL. I, too, think that it’s getting huge. But ”Pukki scoring for fun” just because Norwich are in the Championship? Does that mean that McB will also be scoring for fun next season in the Championship? I really much doubt it, but obviously hope that would be the case.

I wont accept that releagation is inevitable but I do reliase that even an average of 1.5 points per game over the rest of the season may not be enough so the odds are against us.
That said, looking ahead to season 21/22 if we are relegated would see us in a division where most clubs will be struggling financially. I can't see fans getting in to grounds much before April in any great numbers (and that is being optimistic). Championship clubs rely heavily on attendance revenue so their ability to spend money and wages on new players will be hampered. Some clubs will have to sell their most promising or better players, they could be forced to sell them for less that they want to - assuming there are buyers out there.
We would be entering the division with two other teams with a healthy financial reward, even for finishing in the bottom 3 and with parachute payments (are they still about) as well. So compared to other clubs, we will be better well off.
Are our players on relegation wage clauses in their contracts?
We would still have to bring in the right players for the division and that is not our strong point
We would also need the right manager and I strongly believe Wilder needs to stay, in my supporting of the blades, the stand out managers have been Harris, Bassett, Warnock and Wilder, the managers filling the gaps between these guys have been a let down (putting it mildly)
Of course we could win tonight and the next few games. We can but dream

It depends how we go down, if we go down. Go down with a record low playing dismally and there's no way we'll bounce back up. Go down with a fight, and maybe.

I would be confident we would do well. We did so for the majority of the time in the 2 years we were in the champ under Wilder and then were brilliant last year in the prem. We have been crap so far this season, but I would expect a strong response, much like Norwich, Bournemout and Watford have so far this year.

McBurnie scored for fun last time, no reason to doubt he'd fail to score regularly.
