Confidence is low so players need to show their metal even previous consistent performers like Stevens and Fleck are looking invisible someone needs to take the initiative and set the tone ASAP

All of the new deals that players have signed have built in relegation clauses and subsequently the wages will be commensurate with high end championship.
I cannot see many moving on as we need a squad and seem to be focussing on two loan players.
The big problem in my opinion is Berge, not because he is a bad player but because he does not fit in with our up and at em, high intensity style, subsequently if someone comes in and offers us our money back and we can use it to buy a box to box high energy midfield player I would do the deal

Norwood, McBurnie, Fleck, Berge, Mousset, Sharp, Jagielka, Burke, Bryan, Lowe.

All reasonable offers considered.
Complaining about D'Jaffo and Allison seems like a thousand years ago.

I’d be trying to get coulibally a work permit ASAP because if we’ve signed him to be that long term which I think we have then we need to evaluate him before the summer when we’re likely to be in the market for one.

I thought we could only have two loan players per season? We already have Ampadu.

Although he's a dirty bastard and will probably cost you at least a game a season through a red card I can't help but think Ben Pearson would be more use than Sander at this particular time.

We just don't have enough quality to allow him to play some understated positional role which maybe he would do well in. Actually as I said earlier in the week, I'm not sure what his best role will be because he's been given box to box and also defensive midfield and Fulham game aside we're still waiting for his dominance to emerge. Him carrying the rest of the midfield is a bit of a myth IMHO.

Clubs will wait until the summer for Berge, there will be a huge difference in price.

There doesn't have to be...look at Bournemouth and Norwich they have got big fees for the players they let go and the ones they didn't get the money they wanted they have kept...Brooks, Splanke, Kelly, Cantwell, Beundia et al

The days of McCabe are long past

But will Berge be up for playing in the Championship that’s the problem. Last thing we need is want away stroppy players. We’d do well to keep him, he’d shine if we’re in the championship. He is the only one I can imagine anyone having any interest in.

Bash, Flecky, Norwood etc, lauded over the past two or three seasons, now will be remembered more for being part of the worst Premier team ever, shame they don't deserve that but...

We won't be the top notch club in Princes stable maybe now just another feeder club

Doubtful simples because the rewards of getting promoted back to the prem are far higher than being top tier in Belgium I’m no knocking beerschot there or the pro ligue but financially that’s just the reality also we hold coulibally’s registration he’s our player just on loan therefore if we can get him a permit and we want him back then he’s ours again no disrespect but it is the reality.

JR, Berge doesn't strike me as the kind of player who will agitate for a move. Even if he does he must be on a fairly long contract so we can extract maximum value for him.

Looks at Cantwell everyone thought he'd leave Norwich but he's still there as is Buendia

well the way hes been performing lately i doubt there will be any takers for him in january if we are in the championship next season and he stays just wonder if he could play the duffy role if we go back to 3412 ?

I don’t think Berge is the one to play a Duffy type role the thing he’s done well since coming to us (apart from the last 2 games) is driving with the ball at his feet through the middle from deep. Duffy didn’t do that for us at all Duffy received the ball in tight spaces normally in and around the edge of the box he was then able to control the ball manipulate the angles with his shiftiness and pass the ball forward. Playing Berge in that role would simultaneously take away the space to run into in order for him to do what he does best whilst asking him to do something he’s not shown the ability to do yet which is pass the ball out of tight spaces when under pressure he always opts to run out of trouble rather than pass.

Definitely more money from the Prem than the Pro League for sure, but Beerschot have got a much higher chance of finishing in the top 4, which (I think) means getting into the playoffs for the title and a Champions League spot.

So swings and roundabouts really.

Oh yeah I’m by no means saying that we’ll play more European football in my lifetime than beerschot. Just that in terms of flagship opportunities for investment, sponsorship and exposure the English game is probably the most attractive option currently. If beerschot were consistently troubling the knockout stages of European football then that would be different but for any Belgium team to do that consistently would be a truly Herculean effort as the pro league in general can not retain talent compared to other top European leagues.
