Is there a reason why Brewster doesn't start?

Yeah, as the title suggests. Why isn't he starting every match to maybe give him a chance to find his feet, maybe get a goal or two to get his confidence going. I'm not aware of what goes on in training, so maybe he's not fit enough for 90 minutes, or maybe there's some manager wisdom that I'm not aware of?

Because he's crap, even crapper than the other so called strikers

He’s got pace, it seems to be a pre-requisite that we play at one pace and don’t have a fast outlet anywhere on the pitch. Jags has more chance of starting up front given the way we play.

From what I've seen he's surprisingly slow no faster than mcburnie... Looks like we've signed a bit of a dud to me

Trouble is this is one area where Wilder has no defence.

A club record signing who can't get gsme time in a non scoring team.

If he's not been trusted yet, or he's not doing enough in training, it all points back to the manager. Whether that be recruitment, decision making, coaching etc.

This signing is mystifying. I think he will come good eventually, but he's made no impact whatsoever and appears to be 5th or 6th choice.

This is what I'm getting at. At some point 'we' need to look to the future and ensuring the 'future stars' are getting game time, building confidence and feel secure in their place in the system. I'm just pondering if there's something going on behind closed doors that's the reason he's not on the field more.. match fitness was the first thing that came to mind.

I'd like to see Osbourne more too, he seems to put 100% in each time he plays, but seemingly gets pulled off for no reason that I can see. That being said, I don't see him as a AAA player, I'd just like to see if he can achieve something more.

He could well improve. I’ll reserve judgement on that.

But to ask a development player, as things stand, to spearhead our attack in a relegation dogfight, is concerning !!!

Ive said it before.

Im saying it now.

I have seen nowt from ANY of the others to suggest that our first choice PAIRING up top should not be Bill n Dids.

Good Moose if indeed he even exists anymore could and should trouble this conclusion.

The change in emphasis to hoofball, and it’s main ingredients have had a devastating impact on what was so good and positive that came before.

I am truly staggered to understand why this change has been made.

It’s not working gaffer. You HAVE to see that !!!!

Our technicians are having a torrid and the strategy is making them look worse than they truly are.

I agree. If brewster is behind sharp and didzy, then why the hell did we buy him. I too was surprised Osborne lost his place, although to be fair anyone on the bench today can only have improved their standing.

Interesting points. Do you think he has technical ability but just needs some mentoring on the psychological aspect?

It's obvious that he has ability but why would a young man who dreamed from a young age of becoming a professional footballer look so misarable doing a job he's dreamed of doing

How can you make that call based on what you’ve seen?
I've seen enough to be worried that he's nowhere near good enough. We don't score goals and he seems to be the 5th choice striker. He doesn't seem to have any pace and looks lost everytime he plays. I'm not sure what his strengths are at all. All our other strikers have or had an attribute.
Burke- pace
Moussett - Pace / power
Didzy - link up play
Oli - big lump to hoof it to
Sharp- Box player
Brewster - I have no idea 🤷🏻‍♂️

Are you sure he's got pace? I'm not.

I don’t know why he was thrown in against city, Liverpool etc. When we had no chance, we’ve not started him in a game when we might at least have a reasonable amount of possession to see what he could do.

Can’t fault him really, he’s spent his youth years being trained by Chelsea and Liverpool and according to klopp was good enough to warrant a buy back clause. He came to us and Cwak showed him this new amazing football tactic called Hoofball, poor lads never seen it before in his life and has no idea how to adapt to it. When he looked at us before signing he read somewhere a song lyric that went playing proper football the Sheffield United way, thought I’ll have me some of that and signed. Unfortunately he got here and said to Billy I thought we played proper football, Billy said that’s so last year pal, we just do football battleships now mate and we’re both too short at five foot eight to be any good at it......
