We're a mile away.

25% possession every game, no chances, sit back, defend, no press, twat ball up pitch, try win flick on to nobody, revert to sit back and defend.

It's horrible horrible football to watch, it's fucking embarrassing tbh.

Why cause I'm not spitting my dummy out?
He didn't spit his dummy out. He was questioning your opinion on us being 'not far off'.

He's right, we're a million miles away.

I decided to make De Bruyne, instead of Vardy, captain in my FPL team.

Agree

Literally what’s the point in ‘Competing’ and ‘fine margining’ our way to 37 defeats and a draw? We’ve got one point and we’re acting like the system in infallible.

We are embarrassing ourselves on a global scale - we may as well try and out score a side for once. We are down there’s nowt to lose now.

Started a similar thread before I saw this one, so I'll add the context here:

  • We improved second half
  • McBurnie immense in the air, defensively and offensively. Good to see him score.
  • Burke's pace keeps creating chances for us
  • Osborn was very good, will surely start at LWB if Enda is still out
  • Again our midfield struggled to cover enough ground. We should consider a return to the in-game tweak of pushing Basham (or even Bryan) into midfield to press better. There's an element of risk to it, but it's worth trying at this stage.
  • Berge did more from RCM than DCM
  • Bryan did ok most of the time

When fit, we should start Ampadu in the holding midfield role and give him a run there. I think he's the best we've got when it comes to winning balls in midfield. If he's allright, meaning Berge can play RCM and Osborn starts at LWB that's hopefully three improvements from today's line up.

This is true, at some point we have to start getting points. But we are very close every game and that's a fact. It's not like we got smashed 5 off palace. It's horrible and frustrating as fuck but 3 or 4 wins can start to get us out of this mess it's not all over.
Surely your having a laugh apart fro WBA wevenot looked like beating anybody, and as for winning 3-4matches I should have a look at the fixtures coming up!

I won 20 quid, last game it was a tenner and a fiver before that. If it rolls on like this for the rest of the season I’m buying the fucking prince out and announcing the CWAK Tausendjahriges reich.

Disagree. Quite a few fixtures could have gone either way. Yeah there are some tough games but they are all tough

Main positive is we didn’t get absolutely schooled, because there was one Prem team and one middle Championship team out there. I thought the first half was horrific very lucky not to be 3 down .

it’s no good calling for Chris’s head, with these players it is definitely not going to change. Gives him a long time to plan for next year and a crack at getting back.

Absolutely this.
The only thing i would add is that our midfield needs remodelling, Fleck was really poor and that's before the mistake!
Berge, for all his qualities looks too slow, or is he just deceptive ?
We really need a holding middy and some real quality in there, we don't have anybody of that calibre on the books!
If we don't bring anybody in in January we need to hold on to Lunny, (tin hat ready)
Today there was hardly anything coming from our midfield, Amadu might just give us a bit of energy in there or maybe Bryan?

I really wish people would stop seeing McBurnie winning all those headers as a positive. It's a massive, massive negative. In fact it's borderline fucking ridiculous the amount of headers he has to challenge for in a game.

I'm not blaming him one bit, but to say that's in any way a positive for Sheffield United is just plain wrong.

Not sure exactly what attributes Bryan brings to the table. He looked completely out of his depth to me. Agree that Ampadu would be ideal in holding midfield. We need to ditch five at the back for the time being as it's clearly not working with the present players at our disposal.

I would play Ampadu in the middle of midfield and keep him there. He was phenomenal against Liverpool playing there.

I hope Fleck well have a long hard look at himself after what happened today and get some fire back in him. I have no idea what has happened to him.

We need to get a settled team and quick, I am not sure starting Burke is the answer either.

Bryan’s tackle on Ineanacho was a great challenge generally think Egan and Baldock are our best performers most weeks

Whatever the positives are they do not alter the fact that this was another game lost. We have now played 11 games, lost 10 of them and other than the West Brom game you cannot make a fair argument that we should have won any of them. Nearly all the results have been a reasonably fair refection on the game. Today Leicester deserved the no matter how the winning goal came. Gone are the days when as Wilder would say we had right good go and mostly we just hang on in hoping something might break for us. The sad fact is we are not good enough individually or collectively and that sadly will still be the same next week and the week after. Chris has made some huge mistakes in his recruitment and we will be back in the championship before he will (hopefully) get a chance to rectify it.

If we leave out the "McBurnie forces us to play long ball" debate, do we agree it's better that he wins headers than loses them?
