Losing is part of the game. Losing 91% of the time is embarrassing and the longer it goes on, the more difficult it will be to get out of the habit; this season or next. Whatever anybody says, if Wilder takes us down and our performances and form continue in their current vane, there is absolutely no way he’s bringing us straight back up.

Well if they sack Wilder/Knill they need to sack most of the players too as it's as much their fault. Which is proven they are better (see last season).

weve just got too many championship players in the team so thats invariably where you end up were not good enough for the premier league at this time but one thing that does need addresing when we get back up is that we have to start paying premier league salaries or the same will happen again i understand the team spirit ethic and not having players on higher wages than others but it happens at most of the other prem clubs weve missed out on too many quality targets simply because weve got a rigid structure on salaries

The thing with it is, it soon becomes pointless whether we sack him or not. Surely the whole point of sacking a manager is to change your fortunes. The only reason we'd sack Wilder would be a) Is there a manager out there who can keep us up if Wilder can't? and b) how realistic is it that we can even stay up in the first place?

It gets to a point where there's no coming back from relegation, regardless of whether it's mathematically confirmed or not. At some point we have to decide whether to start planning for the Championship.

For me the question should be, who can give us the best chance of promotion next season rather than, who can keep us up this season?

In our financial position, you can't give a team of players £50k+ a week on 3-5 year contracts, 'cos if we do go down it would be a potential disaster.

On the basis of what I’ve seen this season however, the team will need rebuilding and I doubt it’s a one season job. Football isn’t a patient business.

I'd like to think so but such a shocking run and being brought down to earth so quickly can have a massive effect on people and their confidence.

Momentum, both ways, sometimes gets underestimated in football.

On paper we should be in a good position in the Champ next season with the nucleus of the squad and our financial position but I wouldnt underestimate how hard it could be to turn around this.

tbh mate I'm not sure what he could do?? Maybe Bergen Blade or Beans have the answer. All I know there is a good management team in CW/AK as has been proven.

There's players in the Championship who would walk straight in to our current starting 11. I'm not sure theres much justification for suggesting we will come straight back up.

We had an unbelievable squad when we last went down from the Premier League and never even troubled the play offs all season.

Some of the responses on here are worrying. Many want to keep wilder due to the fact he will get us promoted next season? The fuck that all about?? Or sentimental reasons of which wilder isn’t a fan. What happens if he doesn’t get us promoted next season? This is the same question as, If we sack him how can we guarantee we stay up?

The one thing we can all guarantee is that if something doesn’t change trips around the championship grounds are an absolute given.

The Prince is bound to be considering a change. The money involved and the terrible run of bad results does make this inevitable. But it doesnt mean he will make one. He may remain loyal to CW.

A season-saving change will need to to happen very soon, if it is going to happen, otherwise he might as well not bother.
