Warnock

Selective quoting there Danny. I said the seed was sown by the PL relegation which was Warnock's fault but that "the cultivation of the whole shitty tree [was] down to McCabe". Simply speaking: I don't blame Warnock for us being in L1. I do blame him for us getting relegated from the PL.
😂😂😂

Warnock didn't like Sean Bean since well before that.

Pity, watching Deane & Agana destroy teams was the best time for me and when we brought in Hodges to help us out that was just sublime.
Aye, back in the league one promotion season, I asked my stepdad how many he'd think Deane would've scored in that season. "Probably 100 with Agana on 50" seen videos of us back then. Absolute gem of a strike partnership.

People are very harsh when looking back at Warnock's time. Think we'd have had a huge chance of going up if we'd backed him with the money we gave Robson. Look at the squad we had then, even Blackwell nearly took it from bottom 6 to top 6 in about 4 months. People forget after warnock came in and saved us he pretty much improved us year on year with a couple of exceptions maybe but also we pretty much sold our key man every year. The year we actually backed him we went up with games to spare. 02/03 was an absolutely insane season. If we were 2-0 going into last 10 minutes I'd fully expect us to get a draw. Incredibly unlucky in that Premier league season as well not just with Tevez but some outrageous decisions going against us. Luton Shelton being scythed down in the 6 yard box at old trafford west ham last minute equaliser ruled out for no reason etc. Undoubtedly would have been better off with him than what we ended up with.

Very first game gerrard gets a penalty when not touched in box and Liverpool gets draw ..... joke decision

yeah blatant penalty that one and if rob hulse hadnt broken his leg at stamford bridge with 10 games to go theres no way we would have gone down in 2007

We talk about backing him in the promotion season. But we sold our top scorer at the start of the season and still had a very mid table budget. It was only with promotion in sight he was given big money for Akinbiyi and Horsfield. I am not sure people grasp how much we were overachieving throughout his time.

What Warnock was really great at was getting every last bit out of a players career. Look at the players he brought in that did a job that when they signed everyone one must have thought what the fuck have they signed him for.

Stuart McCall
Neil Shipperley
Craig Short
Andy Liddell
David Kelly
The list goes on....

Couple that with his man management skills and you can see why he has been successful at championship level.

I do think he was partly to blame for our relegation though. We just used to go away from home, particularly to the top 4, and just wave the white flag and wait to get beaten. Having said that, most other years we’d have done just about enough to stay up but I do think, rightly or wrongly, the way it ended casts a cloud over his overall achievements with us.

Look what happened when Sean Bean and people like you pushed him out! As I said you all fucked Utd up for 7-8 years! Wonder what yer gonna stat up for CW when you eventually push HIM out ffs!!🙄🙄
Southey Green Owls written all over this. 🤣
