Welbeck was a free and its looking like an increasingly daft decision not to sign him. Hard working player liked by mangers too. I feel he would've made a good addition.
Said in another thread I think our transfer policy is a lot about 'resale value'.

To be fair I've been amazed we have spent as much as we have but all our big signings are young with either no or very little premier league experience. Im guessing the order from above is if we are spending big, either fees and/or wages, it has to be on players where we can at least recoup our outlay.

In hindsight...and in the short term... the money spent on McB, Ramsdale and Brewster may have been better spent on the likes of Foster and Welbeck...time will tell.

agree with you there chris has definetly targeted young players with sell on attributes in a way it tells us hes got one eye on the championship next season with the probability of 2 or 3 being sold but it would also put us in a strong position financially with sales and parachute payment to come back at the first attempt but we must keep cw/ak at the club imo

The resale value falls staggeringly when you’re selling from the Championship. If we go down Liverpool might give us a bag of training kit and an autographed football for Brewster.

Doesn't seem to when we are buying from the Championship 😂 McBurnie and Ramsdale for £40 million anyone

First time i've seen you play this season and i can see why you are struggling, You have nothing up top but the service into the front two was dreadful. You sent 20 million on that Liverpool striker who looks lost and completely over valued. Fair to say you were mugged? A lot of your football is predictable, slow and defensive. it certainly looks like your system has been found out and you are suffering from that horrendous second season syndrom.
On that display both Maypay and Welback would walk into your team which we can all agree on i reckon. Welbeck cost us nothing and is getting chances which is a good sign. Looks like a shrewed bit of business.

To early to call who is going down but there's already a gap forming.

Have a good Sunday all

McBurnie has been toss this season. I’ve not seen you play but the fact that you’ve actually won a game might mean that you aren’t as shit as us.

Maupay missing a pen and subbing himself off. 👀
Oh dear, Never takes the piss when the match isn't over. It tends to come back and bite you on your arse.

Great point today. What a signing Welbeck has been and he didn't cost a penny.

We will confortably finish higher than you and stay up. Mind that gap fella.

Happy lockdown all

Most likely but you won’t come close to doing what we did last season any time soon.

Bloody hell Steve... just been on your profile to see how old you are, was convinced this sort of behaviour must come from a youthful social media sort... but it says you’re 44! Fuck me!! Hahaha what a tit!
Who did you support in your 30’s? Palace? No wait I bet it was the Gunners wasn’t it!

You’re probably not wrong.

Any idea what Welbeck will be getting paid a week? Genuine question.

The fact Brighton can pay the wages and we can't is embarrassing is it not
