I know what you guys mean.
Norrington-Davies sounds like he'd run 100m relay with Jamaica to me also.

Rhys Llewelyn Norrington-Davies. It`s the Norrington part that throws you ,But what a great name , well welsh that , Born in Saudi according to Wiki probably used the Prince`s bog rolls

Makes you wonder why Wilder went out and bought Lowe when we’ve got this lad on the books.

Why are some people moaning about him going out on loan? A season long loan at every tier in the English game will benefit him in his future. Every leagues different and sometimes players even get better playing regular at lower levels. He's only 21...

Because he needs regular game time and he wasn’t going to get it with us. Lowe is a bit further ahead in terms of development. And, as others have said, he’s seen as a potential LCB. I guess we assumed JOC would be fit this year. We may end up recalling RND in the JTW.

Starts again at LWB in the Nations League alongside Ampadu (who’s in midfield) vs an oddly Unitedless Ireland XI and bench.

Looks more like he's playing midfield to me. Potentially the short term fix to getting Lundstram out the side. One way or another we need to exercise our recall clause & get him back in January. It can't hurt to have another player on that left side.

More left midfield in a 3-4-3 to me. You wouldn’t be putting him left side in a midfield 3, especially now Fleck is fit.

We have Stevens, Robinson, Lowe and Osborn who can all cover that side - I’m not sure bringing him back does his development any good at all if he’s not going to be a regular starter.

He isn’t. He’s LWB. But it’s not a defensive formation so I can understand why you would think that – he’s being expected to get forward a lot and Wales are seeing plenty of the ball. Positionally he’s had a decent start to the game, but he’s tried to do a little too much at times. His crossing has been a bit hopeful too thus far.

He’s been something of an outlet this half has RND – seems a clear tactic from Page (v familiar with RND from the U21s) to find him as often as possible. He’s got into some great positions, but a bit like the friendly he played for us has either been safe in passing back immediately, or has taken a fraction too long to cross, with it often blocked as a result.

I haven’t seen him for Luton admittedly, but not wholly convinced we recall him in January and he has much of an effect on us. I’m just not sure he’s quite there yet. I think it would be just as much of a gamble to assume he’d be the answer at either LWB or LCB as it would be to hold out that Lowe makes it at LWB or Stevens finds form at LCB. If we find a LCB solution I think RND remains at Luton for the full season.

RND will go the same way as Adams and DLC. Not good enough for our first team but will probably be starring for Palace or somebody in the next 18 months.

Nice to see him get a start.
Nice to see Brooks on the score sheet

Seems he’s wearing the number 7 shirt for Bournemouth and Wales. If only our number 7 shirt number was becoming available soon!... oh hang on a minute!

Not sure if this has been aired on S2 yet, but could RND be re-trained as a Left Centre-Back for next season? He filled in a couple of times at CB for Rochdale

It’s been mentioned certainly, and if Shield is to be believed it’s where our coaching staff see him eventually settling in the future.

He's stocky but very very short for a centre back and won't help with aerial dominance so its not very realistic unless he is still growing

who the fuck do WBA think they are?

he'd be one of the "rebuild" players if we drop out of the prem this year and even if we stayed up, he's ideal to come straight into the squad and possibly as a starting player next season. Seems to be making rapid progress with an absolute peach of a left foot.

I think he’s about 2cm shorter than Stevens. I can’t say if his leap is better, though it was noticeable in the Bulgaria game that Giggs had him in the box for attacking centre-pieces, rather than the usual halfway line position you’d expect a wingback/fullback for cover.

Any talk of trying to convert RND into an LCB will show that we have leant nothing from the absence of JOC. RND is a LB or LWB and has never played there. He does not possess the aerial prowess. In short he is too short as is Stevens as is Robinson. We need to employ a centre half by trade in this role preferably a beast like Jake Cooper.

From The Star quoting Nathan Jones...

But having operated predominantly at centre-half during his spell at Spotland - “I had to watch him about 10 times, because he was in the middle so often and I wanted to see him wide,” Jones says, detailing his scouting missions to Greater Manchester - it is clear Norrington-Davies is being groomed to potentially become an overlapping centre-half within United’s 3-5-2 system.

Fair enough LB he's played there for a short spell in his career so has Robinson but neither have all the attributes of a commanding centre back IMO. RND has time to fill out and improve physically but he's unlikely to grow in height. The EPL is unforgiving, the size and physical presence of the opposition far outweighs the EFL where RND is currently plying his trade. If we were contemplating grooming him as a LCB why is he not playing in that position for Luton?

The majority of the goals we have conceded this season have come from an inability to defend in the air down the left.
I hope we've seen enough of our frailties to realise we need to rethink the type of player needed to fill this role.

RND looks a good prospect and capable of giving Enda a run for his money in the position he is most suited to and the one that Giggs is currently deploying him in for the national team. Bearing in mind we have Enda, Osborn and RND all capable of playing LWB you do begin to wonder why we invested in Lowe when the money could have gone towards a LCB.
