That's the fear talking.. And it's not entirely unjust, it may happen..

What I'm trying to get accross is, I'd have wilder to lead us back, and otherwise I couldn't see it, we'd repeat our recent managerial history..

But, Hey, opinions is what it's all about.. And you may very well be right..

We need to hang on to Wilder. I agree with that.

Imho the issue now is as much mental as tactical.

Yeah certain players aren't performing to high levels, some new players need time but aren't looking remotely good enough, we're conceding soft goals for fun especially at the back stick, injuries have hurt us etc etc.

However, at the start of last season we came up with momentum and took great confidence from picking up points early.

At the start of this we came off a losing flat end to last season despite the great season overall. Lockdown took away our momentum and whilst we had a few great results afterwards we still finished flat.

We've looked as suspect in the games against lesser opposition as we have in the games against the top teams.

Yeah we've had a tough start on paper but the pressure is now ramping up with each passing week.

It will be difficult now to play with the freedom and abandon in the games against the bottom half teams.

We set off well tonight. Played football, got into them and got the early goal. However, as soon as they came back some heads dropped and we either lumped it or passed it backwards.

The second half was bad but that passage of play at the end of the first half summed us up. Into injury time with less than a minute left and a bit of decent possession but instead of having a go we were happy to go back to the keeper.

I'm still trying to work out whether we changed the way we were playing after the goal or Chelsea simply improved.

Our season starts against West Ham.

We've had a poor start, but we competed against Wolves (after 20 minutes), shouldn't have lost at Villa (score the penalty and we don't lose imo), Leeds GK pulls off 2 world class saves in a game that could have gone either way. We should have taken better care of our chances against Fulham. Poor finishing.

Anyone who realistically expects points at Arsenal (A), Liverpool (A), Chelsea (A) and Man City at home is extremely optimistic. Even last night we were in the game until 75 minutes, but faded badly after that. We lost the others by the odd goal.

I don't think CW has lost the dressing room. He's got a lot of work to put in tactically, needs to deal better with Lundstram, use his squad, and think about the formation. Losing JOC is a big one, and we are struggling to cope. Add Fleck and Mousett, and a goalkeeper who isn't helping, and he's got a lot to deal with. That's what he's paid for though.

I don't want to see him go, but sentiment isn't great in football, so he needs to get some points on the board quickly. The Prince has backed him, CW needs to deliver.

You have to live through the bad, the really bad, to see this ain't so bad..

I dont think anyone should be immune from criticism, its not healthy. We all want him to succeed but we also want to give him a little kick up the arse and say this isnt good enough in the hope he resolves it. If we hadnt spent over £100,000,000 then no issues but the money spent for such poor quality and lack of any improvement (apart from berge) is extremely poor.

Sorry fat fingers, green shoots we've been seeing got a bit trampled last night. Covid, injuries that we fortunatly avoided last season, a budget that limits us to have any real quality on the bench etc etc have all took their toll

Our season starts again in 2 weeks. I believe CWAK have earned the right to put things right. Last year we were lucky with injuries so we were bound to get some. JOC, Fleck and Moose are big losses.

One positive is that we've not been cut adrift . Plus we've now played 4 of the Big six. I just wish non of the players were going on international duty.

I won't say I'm not worried or that CW hasn't made mistakes but just let's remember how far we've come since 2016.
