10th last year was 54 points. We aren't getting 53 points from 31 games.

Max is likely 40. Likely is 28-36

36?

We would need to get something like:

3 points a from both Burnley (a) & Fulham (a) and 6 points from WBA.

3 points from Southampton (h), West Ham (h), Newcastle (h) and Villa (h)

1 point from Brighton (a) and Palace (a),

Our last 6 games of the season are: Brighton (h), Spurs (a), Palace (h), Everton (a), Newcastle (a) & Burnley (h).

We are in all likelihood going to need 9 points from 18, and will probably face Burnley in a relegation decider.

His backs to the wall, pressure is showing but think he’ll do it, just.

I'm not saying this is irredeemable until I've seen us play some of the nomarks with Ampadu, the wing backs, Berge and Brewster all involved.

It may well be but the last 2 games were just miles beyond our current abilities. So far that they are difficult to use as a definitive yard stick

My post wasn't a dig, just a visualisation of what we'd need to do & against whom to get to 36 points.

We will be down by February . Where's the winking icon gone ?

If he works on attacking options through the middle, then his obsession with overloads on the wings will be more difficult to deal with
and we might have a chance of staying up.If his fixation with wing play persists without an extra threat through the middle giving teams
something else to think about then it’s back to the championship.

Just read on the BBC forum that 'Leeds honeymoon is over' and 'they look decidedly Championship', so we'll definitely finish above them!

It's just the curse of waiting for that 200th win, once we get that we'll go on a run I'm sure of it!

Agree with OP, top 10 is a stretch though. I think with how we are playing defensively and in midfield, odds are we will get draws or turn over teams, however boring we play. Feels like we are awaiting a bit of luck as a spark for our season to start, might be naive to say but a tactically inept FL’s chelsea could be a perfect springboard

Lampard owes us one nothing to come from chelsea

Ultimately there’s not a single player in that side that I think will ever hide, ever quit, ever give up on each other and the good old cause. To quote the gaffer “we’ll never leave through the back door” and while ever that’s the case we’ve always got a punchers chance and they deserve our support and pride.
