Im sure Im not alone in saying the draw of behind closed doors football diminishes every week
not because we only have 1 point , all football has lost its punch
not just football, tv shows with no audiences are just as drab
But my only concern is the dearth of passion in the game
All the cream of football are playing in an atmosphere similar to a game on pitch 7 of concord park on a foggy sunday morning
my first recollection of going to Bramall Lane was the noise , the tangible atmosphere of hope and expectation oozing out of every fan
We are getting pasteurized football devoid of flavour
The longer it goes on the more sterile it becomes

I truly worry interest will wane and effect football for years to come

My 60 year old dad who has followed the Blades everywhere since he was a kid has completely lost interest, he didn't even watch us against City even though he had it available to him.

I have not watched a single game this season. I have gone from football obsessed to really disliking the game.

VAR, diving and cheating, the complete financial imbalance and greed, behind closed doors souless games, PPV..... The list is endless.

Let Man U, Liverpool et Al Sod off to their European Super League. They have already destroyed the value of the oldest cup competition, they really don't care if they destroy the value of domestic leagues as long as they rake in the cash.

I am going to focus on riding my bike and playing golf which I actually enjoy rather than getting increasingly angry watching this pantomime.

it has worried me for some time that football changes rules far too often these days
substitutes rules seem to change whenever chelsea buy another 4 players to loan out
my earliest memories include beating leeds 1-0 with 10 men after an injury
now they can add an extra sub in extra time in cup games, be having rolling changes like in american football within a decade

offside was always contentious but now its utterly baffling especially for referees and video operators
level was onside but now a moustache hair can deem you offside

and the farce of punishments
relegating charlton but not wednesday yet wednesdays offence was earlier,,,,,, why
bury kicked out for fraudulent dealings

But surely results don't come into it??!! Maybe enjoyment wise but we're not throwing our toys out the pram because of a few bad results are we FFS??

Finally, I reckon that when this is all over whenever that is, we'll be hungrier to watch it than ever, not enthusiasm waned. Hopefully it's not for too long.

I agree far too many rule changes, format changes, cup changes, technology ruining the game. I’m seriously thinking about taking my lad to Belper Town rather than a premier league match. Quickly moving away from the football I grew up with and loved.

The big clubs and powers at be seem to take for granted that fans will put up with anything and to a degree they’re probably right because like it or not we are less important than the TV fans in the Middle East, USA and Far East.
I barely watch any football now except United games my interest levels are that low. I went through a similar period back in the late 80’s where I wasn’t so bothered but it didn’t last too long. Now until I can start going again I can’t see it changing and even then I’m not so sure.

I say every week that I'm not bothered about watching the match, but I still do. I've never really been interested in other teams' matches and the lack of crowds hasn't really changed that.

I've always struggled to watch football on T.V and never really known why. There's something special about going to an actual game, whether it's a 3pm Saturday kick off and meet in the pub around 12 or a Tuesday night game where you finish work jump in the shower and get down to the Lane asap. Nothing beats live-in-person football.

If there wasn't as much money in football, and sport as a whole all sport would be cancelled until a vaccine was found, how can playing football be classed as essential, when there are other businesses that are being forced to close that have a big impact on people's mental health etc, when you watch the games the players and managers aren't distancing property, they are shaking hands and hugging, this will influence the younger generation and others into thinking the rules do not matter as their idols are clearly not abiding by them

4 defeats by the odd goal to European qualifiers. Had losses in very tight circumstances and some poor poor decisions

It's definitely wank right now. United's results aren't helping but it's much deeper than that. That City defeat, same performance but with a crowd, would have been a million times better if we could be there chanting, screaming, booing and chatting to each other.


I hate watching us play at home. It's horrible knowing you should be there. It's so dull right now. Even the high scoring games leave me cold because with nobody there its just like watching a training session. I think the game has lost about 70% of its appeal for me.
