We haven’t got the money to compete with the top six

We don't have the money is getting a bit of a bullshit arguement that I am sick of hearing. We have spent the best part of 100million and some of this squad hasn't been improved from what it was before and that is mostly in the strike force area.

We have spent good enough money to at least have one striker that scores regularly for us.

We’ve got no one to supply the ammunition for the strikers. That’s half the problem, it’s alright buying Brewster but you’ve got to create something for him.

'We played well, but...' is all very well and good against Liverpool, but it was the same against Villa, the same against Leeds, the same against Fulham.

We've got one point from six games and only one of those games was at Anfield. At some point, you've got to accept that 'we played well, but...' isn't going to cut it every week.

I chalked it up to VAR and bad luck up to now but you can't keep missing the chances we create every match regardless of the opposition.

I am sure Wilder is of the school of thought that you create your own luck.

What do you do then ,just give up like you have .?

I don't think anyone said we played well against Fulham. Liverpool away the most difficult game of the season, can take positives from today's performance.

I think we're half right each - lot's of people said we should have been out of sight at half time. Most people agree we were poor second half. I was rounding up...

I don't see what blindly predicting we're going to finish comfortably mid table gets one, but I'm not going to deny anyone's right to do it.

It's just odd to me that every game we get 'we played well, but...' and 'It's only 2/4/5/6/8 games FFS!'. The message doesn't change, but the number of games it's 'only' been keeps going up with no material improvement in our league position.

Owen and Giggs just said on supersport that we’ll be alright , Owen said there is definitely 3 worse teams if we keep playing like tonight

What do you do to improve that with the players we have?

Somethings not going right in training, extra attack/shooting practice ? If you cant score goals you dont practice defending corners. :)

We won a lot of games1-0 last season due to our defence. We are missing Jack so much
with our lack of aerial presence. We scored very few then either and relied so much on our excellent defence which we cannot do at present, especially with crosses. Its a worry.

A good striker will create goals for himself. Olly Mac doesn't seem to be able to do that and the chances created for him by other players are being missed.
His general play and bringing other players into the game is good but sadly that's not enough at this level.

That is the first time this season that we have played positively and well.

So are you blaming Wilder’s recruitment?

Possibly you're right, though that's hardly any more comforting (one good performance in six!)

My point is that there's always people saying how well we've played after each poor result (and so far this season they have all been poor results, without exception). Some people think we played well against Leeds, Villa etc., some disagree, but the practical upshot is the same - one point from six matches.

Christ, it wasn't just kneejerking.. We really are going to get relegated.
