We likely won’t. Wilder doesn’t like a big squad, has said he likes 25 as a total, and despite the 3 gaps in it, it is in practice made 25 when Ampadu, Bogle and Brewster are factored in.

Don't forget, that means Benie Traore doesn't count since he's 20.

Posted similar elsewhere... We have 21 senior players at the moment assuming no one else gets sold/loaned and all injured parties included. So we should expect at least 4 incoming (or at least 5 if fleck is done).

GK x3 - Wes, Davies, Amissah.
Def x10 - Egan, Anel, Bash, Trusty, JLT, RND, Baldock, Bogle, Lowe, Larouci.
Mid x6 - Norwood, Souza, Anis, Ben, Fleck, Coulibaly.
Fwd x2 - McB, Brewster (plus Osula, Jebbo and Traore all under 21).

I would be targetting 1x left mid, 2 x attacking mid and 1x striker. Reminder: all loans count towards the 25 even if they are under 21yo.

I think we will end up with 4 new arrivals. Two permanent buys, and two PL loans.

Before senior players like Ndiaye and Berge moved on, I was confident we would avoid relegation.
If the last 4 newcomers are quality signings, we can hope for bottom 10 EPL and still avoid relegation.

If we sign any more ‘development’ players it will be a struggle to stay up. Even quality loans like McAtee and Doyle were only enough in second half of the season!. Hecky has a tough job as it is, but he does develop players very well.

Just a bit of fun but the 23 players on the left were the players that actually played in 20/21 and finished 16 adrift with a measerly 23 points. That would have been 13 points short of survival last season.

The players on the right are current squad with a very rough assesment of how they compare IMO. If we can get 3 or 4 players in we should get that gap down to single figures this time

Surely IF we sign new players in the JTW we need to move some on? Everyone we currently have is in the 25 man squad + under 21s.

I guess Basham is the obvious one to miss out but not sure on others..

I brought up a similar point, apparently we can just omit the deadwood when we name our new 25 man squad at the end of the JTW. Since their contracts will likely be up this summer anyway I guess they'll be moving on soon enough.

I'm doubtful we'll strengthen in the JTW but IF were not already down then it'll be a disgrace and a pathetic move.

We need 4 players but importantly a defender no matter what.

For me Jebbison could be a great asset in the Championship, he was looking very promising last season and deserved more than the 486 minutes afforded to him. Hecky will know if he's got the kind of illness a player can come back from, and no doubt if we do keep him on it will be on very reasonable wages.

Priority one is still a decent LWB as we have none. Then other is CB, a CM (Souza alternative) and a CF (Mc Burnie alternative). If we're still in with a reasonable chance of staying up then to be recruited at Premier League standard, otherwise if it's a lost cause happy to recruit at high end Championship standard and let them settle in before next season.
