The only remaining recruitment will be a striker or two.
I hope it's two , because Burke can't shoot straight + doesn't score + CW may well not consider him to be a striker , at least not for now anyway.
I think Burke could end up anywhere between RWB + striker , depending on how his "career rehabilitation project" goes at the Lane.
The theme of recent recruitment has been young & versatile.
Bogle can do RWB or RMF. Ampadu can do CCB , RCB , CMF or RMF at a pinch. Burke has in his career played ST , RWinger (we don't do wingers) & RWB.
I think we'll buy a striker to start games (from UK or abroad) + take a young one on loan from abroad.
Our strikers will be :
New permanent man
McB
Didsy
Moose
Billy
Foreign loan kid.

Like it or not Burke has been signed to play primarily as a striker. He may fill in elsewhere at times but that’s why wilder has got him, to add pace and power up top

I’m not so sure about that. To move to the next level we have to be adaptable and many times last season that meant us going 442.

Traditional 442 leaves space for a winger to mix things up a bit, someone to take a man on when defences are tiring

I hope we go back for John Swift. I think we need a creative spark coming from midfield.

Yeah they've been weird with that page all season. Still have Freeman, Clarke, Eastwood, Zivkovic there but got rid of Luke Freeman as soon as he left. Added all the new signings and youngsters but forgot Ramsdale. Now they've listed Oli Burke as a midfielder.

Not sure I agree to be honest, but we’ll see what happens.
I’d say the squad has improved but has the starting 11? Unless the striker he’s after shocks us all!

While true, we won’t. The PL registered squad might allow more, but we’ll go with 25 including the 2 (possibly 3 depending on the age of the final signing) youngsters. Wilder has talked before of the importance of having a good number to manage, and he’s specifically said 25 is that number. He will not want a squad of 27 players.

Yes, all the starting players are a year older with a years experience of the Premier League. That’s with no future changes which will happen.

I appreciate that, but I'll cut someone a bit of slack for (probably accidentally) describing a player as an English prospect when they were born, grew up & schooled in Devon & in the youth team at Exeter city.

It was a light-hearted criticism – I’ve no idea if Ampadu cares or not about it to be fair. As someone in a similar situation though, I do get a bit annoyed by it when the same thing happens to me. Though at least now I know that being capped at full international level wouldn’t necessarily have changed that...

3 places could come in very handy if we have a glut of injuries or a weakness in our squad appears. An extension beyond the international cut off with the EFL coulld come in handy.Ime sure Wilder will have designs on one or two championship players or league 1.That 10 day extension would give the opportunity to bring in a couple of loans.
Hopefully the scenario I've painted doesn't happen,but the opportunity will be there.
Some lower league clubs will be desperate for funds with covid putting a lid on fans returning any time soon.

I agree that this is probably Wilder's intention. However personally, I think with the current Lundstram situation, that we should sign Swift or another Right sided midfielder if one was available at a decent price.

Is this assuming Bryan and Moore are not in our plans ? By my reckoning we have 24 players over 21, with room for one or two more depending on how many keepers we name (CW said 3 today).
