Controversial opinion.

I’d bring Norwood back in his normal role.
I’d move Berge to RCM where he’s been very good
I’d love Lundstram to LCM as he’s the most two footed midfielder we have.
I’d leave Fleck out for now.

I love Fleck btw.
Soon as fleck came on Saturday it offered us more

I agree with Berge back to RCM if we're sticking with a flat three. I'd have Lunny as a backup though. Unless there is something specific up with Fleck, I'd persevere with him at LCM. He's not going to refind his firm on the bench.

HOWEVER, given CW's comments on being a bit braver going forwards, I can see us going back to a 2-1 in midfield. I would love to see us try two of Ampadu / Berge / Norwood holding and one of Didsy / Fleck behind the strikers.

Contrary to what I’ve just said... I would be happy to see a tweek in formation also. The double pivot midfield appeals to me with a more attacking player.

A somewhat bizarre sounding option would be (and I'm making up a term here, so please bear with me) an inverted flat three, with Norwood or Ampadu at the base, Berge as centre CM and Fleck / Didsy as attacking CM.

Seems a bit narrow that Bris to me

You're probably right. If JoC was fit and we had him and Bash overlapping it would give us width going forwards and I guess there is nothing stopping the mids mixing it up and drifting wide. May be a bit too much 'Total Football' though!

The problem for me would be that you’d be asking the 3 midfielders to cover ground width ways... as oppose to transitioning the play from defence to attack up the pitch.

Like I said, you're probably right. Just throwing ideas around. Double pivot or Berge right, Fleck left in front of Ampadu or Norwood would be my preference. The main problem I see of late is that Berge, Lunny and Osborne are so flat there is no depth at all, but willing to accept a 1-1-1 may be an over-reaction!

You’re right to throw ideas around, I enjoy discussing formations and tactics. I’ve took great pleasure in lauding it over my non Sheff U mates how revolutionary our football has been the past 3 seasons!
And it’s certainly clear to me that it’s been way to flat of late!

Really hope he fucks off. Preferably to some league one outfit. He might realise then he's bang average. All that talk got to his head. Sorry John, you're only known due to the fuck up regards fantasy league (or whatever it's called)

He’s gone now the suspension carries him into jan when he’s free to accept whatever offer he’s got. I don’t dislike him him as a player but he is limited I thought we could do with another body in there before berges injury we certainly are desperate for one now.

He isn’t free to join anyone in January is he? I thought he was just free to sign a pre-contract agreement with someone (providing it isn’t an English club)

He is free to sign a pre contract with anyone I thought as he’s over 23 at that point the clubs would likely agree a minimal payment to free him up early but it won’t be anything remotely substantial

i just wish he would sign for somebody else and f**k right off out of our club had a good 3 months last season but apart from that hes bang average and championship at best

Yeah I’d say the Lundstram we’ve seen this year is actually the player he is. I don’t think he’s necessarily phoned it in this year this is just the player he is going on his whole body of work whilst here it looks like last year he hit a purple patch and has since regressed back towards his average. Buyer beware on this one certainly anyone willing to offer him a premium contract.

hes turned in to a billy big bollox like che did think he might have played his last game for the club good riddance

That would be absolutely fantastic business wouldn't it.

That would leave us like this in midfield:

Norwood
Ampadu
Osborn
Rodwell

Fleck sold
Lundstram sold
Berge out until March

Fuck me.

We could always swoop for the Championships best midfielder who's also out of contract in the summer.

Forget that HMS Piss the League has broken away from the sand bank and its now full steam ahead with Captain Pulis at the helm.

I’ll be interested to see what move he can make as to whether all this self confidence has been justified.

Sounds as though he may be Rangers bound. I think he'll do well up there if so - a central role, more time on the ball, lower standard of opposition and seemingly most important to him, a salary increase.

No PL club worth their salt would be offering him a contract based on the last 12 months of his play. He’s been dirt for 2020.

that said he seemed to be one of the few of our players to find themselves in goal scoring positions from midfield - so I suspect that will be missed.

think he may end up regretting rejecting the offer all things considered

That is the real point and why he undoubtedly gets picked match in, match out by Wilder. And what so many Blades fail to grasp. We are desperate for goals and no other midfield players look even close to plugging that gap. At a time when Sheffield United goals are rarer than rocking horse droppings, so many Blades desperately want to see the back of a midfielder who has shown he knows where the back of the net is. I've never particularly rated Lundstram, but he's not performed worse than many other players and I would probably pick him too if I was Wilder.
If he goes to Rangers, I doubt he'll regret it, no matter how wonderful Blades think playing for United is.

If he goes to Rangers I just can't see this being the case, their wage bill last reported year was £29.5m ours for the same period £37.6m (was the season we got promoted but I'd expect a similar amount in successive years) either he was really under valued here or is over valued there.

That went well against villa from 12 yards for him ... He's been purr gash since sander joined ...
He should have been treated the same way duffy was (duffy 10 times the player he is ).. and shown the door when he said he wasn't signing ... Good riddance
