Bit harsh on Cotts I think, I always thought he put in a shift, was fast, put in decent crosses and generally looked up for it. The problem was, the crowd (well, me at least) were always encouraging his runs while Blackwell spent the entire time shouting and screaming at him (presumably to get back and not do what he was good at: getting forward - I was in the South Stand but not close enough to hear what/why Blackwell was always shouting at him).

As for Howard, sorry to say but I think he's bobbins, one good season for Barnsley in the cup doesn't make him Zidane.

But that only works for players who could command similar elsewhere. Do you think any other club is going to pay Ched Evans £20K per week, or Ryan France £7K per week? Divide it by 10 and we might stand a chance.

If we are relegated then the only players that will leave will be the decent ones.

Cressy has played on the wing countless times this year and a guy with no pace who is a striker is not going to do anything there.

Ward is "god" as you would put it at the lane, because he is the only fecker bar yeates with a bit of pace and flair who will actually run at people. The lad was shit against cov but when actually played upfront where he is supposed to be he is our best striker.

I'm amazed how you can comprehend how playing players out of position is obviously going to make a major negative effect to their performance.

Just to clear this up, putting the ball in the back of the net every now and again is what seperates Sharp from Evans.

The same David Carney who looked like a non-league player and had all the heart, bollocks and application of a pea. He was summed up perfectly during a league cup game at Huddersfield where he was favourite in a 90-10 ball in front of the travelling support and neshed it. That said it all for me, and i was chuffed when Blackwell drummed him out a few days later.

For whatever reason Billy Sharp didn't do it through us, and i thought he always struggled with the weight of expectation but he tried hard although it just wasn't going to be. He will score goals wherever he goes but unfortunately not for us, a bit like Clive Mendonca was a few years back.
