ey up.. i was out with my bro in law and some of the citeh boys on thursday.. they were pretty astonished when i told them they'd sold us a total flop.. so what has gone wrong.. has he been replaced by his untalented twin brother and moved to thailand to sit on the beach?... it is all very well saying we shouldn't boo him (i never boo the shirt btw although my patience has been sorely tried at times!).. but he's had a year and a third now and hasn't turned in one decent performance.. wtf is up with him?

One of my friends down in Norwich thought he was the business. 10 goals in 20 games or something.
The goal down at Ipswich on the last day of last season showed what he can do, and then today against Ipswich looked like a striker with all the power of a two year old.

Sounds like most of our strikers, From what you have said, who can do all of the above? Ward cant shoot there just like pass backs or go miles wide. Cresswell is never in the position to shoot and is just so slow its unreal, I think the only striker this season who has looked promising is Daniel Bogdanovic

I had an argument last season with my mate with regards to how bad ward is, he wast sticking up for him, however I missed the Coventry game last week and when I saw my friend in pub today he said he now agrees with me with regards to Ward. Totally agree. What a waste. I've never known a "striker" hide as much as him. Its almost as though he's scared to get into positions where he might have to take some responsibility in front of goal. He just drifts out wide and hides in nondescript positions. Cresswell constantly ran under aerial balls with no intention of even challenging for a header.

I think people have made their mind up about Ched's performance before he even gets on the pitch.

The paper I've bought gives Evans a 7 and Cresswell a 4 - I don't think that's too far out.

Think Evans is massively a confidence player... It all started going wrong at the start of his Blades career when he could do eveything but score and was constantly hitting the woodwork.

Problem is, without a bit of luck during the sub appearances he's getting, his confidence isn't going to get any better.

Absolutely spot on. Despite Ched's limits, he has been our best striker so far this season. I know it's not saying much but he has. The treatment he gets is staggering when it has taken most Blades three months to realise that Cresswell is a complete and utter bag of shite. Evans needed to score that chance today but - looking to the positive - he got on the shoulder of the defender and got in for the chance which was far more than Cresswell or Ward managed.

Cresswell's ludicrous overhead kicks - three times was it late on? - were IMO more worthy of a slagging off than anything Evans did today. His recent rubbish has made me remember his history as a Wednesday fan which I had forgotten thanks to last season's goals. Yet another player who plays well until he gets his contract and then seems content to steal a wage from us.

Bogdanovich and Evans have to start from now on. Cresswell needs a period on the bench to send a message to the others that nobody is untouchable in that starting eleven.

I agree Cresswell has been shit for ages. But he has scored goals. Same with Ward. Evans is just shit, period. He fluffed another yesterday and as Casper pointed out, hides. He works around the box but doesn't put himself into positions remotely often enough. His ball control is poor. He has no trick, He has no pace. He's positionally incompetent. He can hit it hard. That's the lot. He's pants.

We desperately need a new striker. If we rely on Evans, we will get relegated.

So far he has cost our club about £5Million, returned 5 goals and looked like a non league player. He's had barely a whisper of vocal criticism. I'd agree the treatment he gets is staggering, but for completely the opposite reason to you.

He's criticised in discussion boards because, quite frankly, there is simply nothing good to say.

But Ward is played as a winger and earns about, and cost about a tenth as much as Evans. There are parts to Wards game that have helped us. Evans has done nothing. Ever.
