I think there's so much over reaction from some fans. Can we try and look at things realistically? We ALL know we need a striker or two in, that's a given. But calm down and tell me how you think we compare to our three opponents so far looking at it sensibly.

Wolves - clearly a better side than us with the amazing individual talent they have, which we lack. Money coming out of their ears. An unsurprising loss but a very slow start from us where we lost it within the first 10 minutes. Are we really competing with them this season though? Despite how well we did last season, I think they're in a different class to us this season.

Villa - personally if I was a Villa fan I'd be very fearful again for this season after that first performance from them. If we don't get the red card/miss the pen I think we take something from that match. They were absolutely toothless. I think we're a better team than them despite all their spending. I wasn't impressed with them at all.

Leeds - I think we matched each other up pretty well today. Can't believe people are seriously saying they were any better than us? A draw would have been a very fair result, it was a good game. Certainly don't look at them and think they're miles ahead of us at all.

So I suppose I'm basically saying that in two of the three matches so far, we've not seen teams miles better than us by any stretch of the imagination. We are a striker or two (and some luck), away from starting to grab the points. I'm impressed with Ampadu and actually did like the look of Burke today. Also let's point out that if this was last season with both Egan and Joc out in the same match, without the cover signing of another defender, we'd have to rely on Jags. So it's definitely not been a waste of time signing a few defensive players to strengthen the overall squad. Let's try not to over react at this point and save that for the end of the transfer window if we don't sign these strikers!! UTB as ever.

You can dress it up and create extenuating circumstances all you like, but it's three games, three losses, zero goals. Two of the games were against Leeds & Villa who you'd expect to be bottom half teams.

Our next 5/6 games are against teams that will likely occupy European spots.

The signs are not good.

It's not about dressing it up. We're all aware that it's 3 games, no goals, no points. I'm asking you to stand back and look at the other teams critically. Obviously I share your frustration, I'm massively fucked off with today and the start to the season. But I don't think all is lost by any stretch of the imagination.

Couldnt agree more.

No goals no points....a real bad sequence of results.

But in the cold light of day there have been mitigating reasons for the defeats and today could have gone either way.

It's desperately disappointing as I think we are close to being a very decent side. Bring in a decent forward or two and we could be quite a tasty side.

Losing O'Connell is a blow but the lads brought in to cover are all good players and Robinson has grown as player. Sort it out up top and it will turn for us and we will start winning games again.

Sometimes fans just lash out due to sheer disappointment. It's harder to take a breath and look at other aspects then. But the performance today was relatively good and I think we will come good again soon.

Regardless of how we played, these were the games we were winning by the odd goal last season or at least drawing.

These last two game especially were the games that kept us safe, our record versus the bottom 7 was very good. 30 from a possible 42 points came from these fixtures.

It was the unlikely ‘bonus points’ picked up against the likes of arsenal, spurs & chelsea which took us to midtable.

This season, If we are losing against the teams who will be battling it out for safety with us like Villa & Leeds will be it worryingly makes the upcoming games v Arsenal & Chelsea must win which is not a position we want to be in.

I just hope the players have more belief in them selves and the management than some of the so called supporters on here do,

And they said Chicken licken was CHICKEN, some of you lot on here should be ashamed to call yourselves supporters !!!!!

You want 4 points from those three. Doesn't matter about circumstances or luck. We've had a woeful start and something has to change.

I know what you're saying of course. But what I'm talking about by comparing us to our opponents so far isn't actually about the results we've had against them so far, it's more about thinking ok, next time we play them we can easily win as they aren't miles better than us in any way at all. I'm on about the quality of other teams compared to us. So more about the bigger picture across the whole season rather than panicking straight away and people saying we're crap blah blah blah 👍

And what if they think they can work out how to beat us by even more next time?

I know I'm being contrary but we need to be banking points soon, not on what we can do against teams the next time we play them.

Yeah we all know we need points on the board. It's a given. But wouldn't you be more worried if Villa and Leeds had comprehensively outplayed us is what I'm getting at? As in, we aren't far off, we haven't suddenly become a crap team in the space of a few months. Villa or Leeds thinking they can work out how to beat us by more next time isn't something I'm worried about - Wolves yes, them two, no.

I'd probably be less worried. While we're in the game and looking competitive, we're more likely to do more of the same and expect our luck to change. I don't think we can get away with that.

Get what you're saying though but think we're looking like plucky relegation candidates at the moment.

Less worried? If Villa had comprehensively outplayed us I'd be suicidely worried 😂

I don't think we've got the personnel to wholesale change the way we play so I'm definitely less worried looking at it from my angle!
