Thanks Linz,

I have done just that:

No worries SB and props for being the first one to actually email.

As promised, we'll pass on any emails to Simon Argall when we pop an email through to him about the results.

A is a bit Feyenoord-ish and B is AS Monaco. I quite like A - if we're only having it for a season then why not have something a bit different. C is possibly the most "traditional" one, and I reckon the one most people will go for.

If you look at the difference in stripes on shirts that Nike supply then they change wildly, lIke Barcelona's. One season it's thin stripes, then fat ones, then just halves. As I've stated in the voting thread I quite like A. It's different, although not too traditional. Mind you, traditional hasn't always been the order of the day. The one fat red stripe, the thin ones of the Brian Deane era, and the awful diamonds haven't been too traditional after all. Maybe the Monaco one would be acceptable if it was based on an old kit, but it isn't. If we were to go really old school then perhaps white with red pinstripes might be the way?

These kits aren't all exact copies of each other after all. Why not try something different, even if it is for just a season? It might become a clasic if the team performs well in it, but I'll not hold my breath....

Kit B is an absolute fucking travesty.

I don't mind Kit a as it's a bit like the 97-99 one, which for my money has been the best kit for some time.

all 4 make this seasons look fantastic

I thought the same with kit A, it's different but not too different that it looks like the shocker that is kit B.

If it's with black shorts and white socks (my personal favourite combo), then I think Option D is worth a go. C is too much like many we have had recently, and a bit more white might be nice for a change. Not a fan of the assymetrical ones, especially as the front view seems to show one long sleeve and one short sleeve. That'd just look stupid!!!! :-)

C and D don't look bad. Is B a wind up? Are they seriously suggesting that as a possibility?

Has to be C really doesn't it.

A is wonky and doesn't have enough stripes.
B is an absolute monstrosity, and I can't even believe it's been put forward!
D is too white for my liking.

FFS guys, the club come out and try to give the fans input into something they moan about year on year and most of the posts in this thread moan about it.

If this is just the start of what the club are hoping to do by bringing fans opinions onboard then surely that is a good thing.

Those that have a problem with new kits every year, which I can understand, do they have any suggestion on how to raise the lost revenue elsewhere?
These can't include not paying certain players wages who are already contracted to the club and were signed based on managers decisions.

Agreed Bob.

As one with 3 kids, 2 of whom want a kit every year, I should probably moan about it. But I think it's good business sense form the club and I applaud it. As a parent, it's my job to say no. The club's job is to maximise its' revenue. They should just be clear that the kit is for one season only - in the past they haven't always been from memory. Now it's as standard so no confusion. Nobody is forced to buy a kit. Personally I think they're shite and never buy one.

Choose kit B and party like it's 1979 again (remember that break from tradition?) We might get walloped by the Pigs in the third division again.

Sod it! I'm voting B just for the sheer hell of it. I won't buy the thing anyway.

hahaha!

Taking into consideration all of the above posts, I would like to vote for....................................

.......................................B

Yes B. I'd like to see a change from stripes, especially as it's only for one season (int it?)

no change from stripes!! 5 people actually voted for B??!! surely for a laugh because they know it won't get picked. (hope i've not jinxed it). B is a terrible kit!!

home shirt?.. just give us the chengdu one.. oh its made by nike.. hmm.. where can you buy one of those things?.. do they sell them in the shop like they used to?

this does my head in. where is option E .. none of the above.. can we just have a bog standard red and white striped shirt?.. (like the chengdu one.. meh).. just bog standard NON CONTRASTING trims in the SAME colour as the shirt.. a simple classy design.. is it that difficult? do these people know anything about football?

Why does it have to be for just one season? If the club want to maximise revenue at times like this then surely they're better placed getting fans into the ground... unless of course they believe that we're shite and its better that fans don't see us play, yet buy the shirt and show off the name of the sponsors....

Errrm, I'm lost...:)

They've done the maths and make the most money by changing it every year. It doesn't have to be so. They could change it every 10 years. Those who don't want to renew every year, don't.

Changing the kit is a different policy to that of getting people through the turnstiles. One doesn't effect the other.

And as Bob points out, if fans don't think we should renew every year, they should indicate from where else the club should raise the revenue (between complaining about selling Beattie and the price of their season ticket....:D).

Well my theory is that the club are putting fans off partly by being over commercial. If you want stats to back this up, then i'll refer you to the Lenners and Micalijo school of "filling in the gaps to suit the argument" ;)

But basically, whilst times are hard, the team is doing shite then surely the thing the club want to maintain is attendances as a revenue stream, but thats assuming that fans will choose a shirt v a ticket.

I don't think they make that choice though. My kids like 'em to wear. They get bought them as presents from Grandparents because we've run out of ideas. Lots of people like to wear 'em, and if they're like my kids, they get tons of wear in a year. For £30 they actually work out as good value compared to half of the other shite they wear...:D

My point is that they're often a piece of the clothing range rather than just a demonstration of support for the club, so the 2 purchases are mutually exclusive.

D easily, just so people won't need to fork out 40 quid to buy it, as it is identical to this seasons.

Considering they design and make clothing for football I would make the safe assumption that they do. :)

Alco, I sort of promised myself I wouldn't get sucked in, but who do you know wandering around in a SUFC kit that has no interest in the club?

Richard Cresswell, on the basis of what we've seen this season...

I'm bored of the last few seasons..... so if we're not going back to a retro shirt (which I'd prefer), then it would have to be 'A', just for a change.

Edit: I think I can get on board with one long sleeve and a short one too :) Now that, would be setting the trends.

You do realise you just pulled the rug marked "Chedwyn" from under Alco's feet don't you?
