CONFIRMED Rhian Brewster

I tend to think we're trying to get Brewster AND Balogun both over the line and splitting our budget between the two. This may backfire spectacularly with neither of them joining.

I also suspect we’re trying for 2 strikers....one on loan and one to buy.
If Steve Bettis pulls this one off then he deserves his name chanting at matches.
”One Steven Bettis......there’s only one Steven Bettis“ to the that Spanish tune One dalameya (However it’s spelt).

Clearly the lad knows his best chance of game time is us and wants the move to happen, highlighted when he liked that tweet the other day.

Maybe we think Balogun is a better bet for much cheaper?

Either way that article is very strange, especially if the guy is a big blade. It's going to potentially ruffle a few feathers or alert other clubs.

That’s an awful lot of detail coming from Nathan....source has to be someone at LFC or more likely Wilder himself to pressure the Prince..dangerous game to play if true but perhaps he has grown too frustrated

Combining that snippet with Wilders presser makes you think the decision is with the board as to whether we pull the trigger on it. Everything seems lined up ready to go.

Over to you, chairman.

If they refuse to pull the trigger I think something will snap, whether that be the fans patience or Wilders

He’s decent. Tier 2 at the mo. Might upgrade to Tier 1 with more solid exclusive updates like this, if accurate...
Agreed with this, broke the details of the Ramsdale deal before anyone else and seems accurate. But is he just the best of a bad bunch? #BringBackCadette

One other thing to throw out there. 18million in installments of our choosing with a token amount at the front end is lovely, but if there's a buy back in the region of 20 to 30m, then the risk is pretty much all ours and I could understand our reluctance.

That's the Sheffield United I fell in love with. None of this £20m signings nonsense

Haha class. Exactly my thinking. Is McCabe back?

(holds phone away from ear)
CEO: Psstttttt... they've dropped the price from £25m to £18m. Even said we can pay in installments in whatever way we like. What shall I say?

(McCabe swivels in his chair. Gently stroking the cat on his lap... he rubs his chin)
McCabe: We've got them on the ropes. Tell them the deal's off. We want a loan deal. With an OPTION... make sure you say OPTION.... to buy for £10m..... Wait make that conditional. Yes, we have the option to make it permanent IF (and only if) he scores 15 goals....
This is a man's game.

What on earth did our budget for a striker look like? So far we have spend less than nothing on attackers c£-3m (in whatever we got in part/x for Robinson) on a striker and wilder has said consistently that we needed 2 in.

Makes you wonder why we paid the full sticker price in ramsdale so readily. A gross 22m for him was very steep!

That's a fair point, and it could be that they have us over a barrel in that respect. But I feel this is something we need to swallow, if we want to get some attacking quality into the club. More about the here and now, rather than 2-3 seasons time when we might have to let him go for relative peanuts.

Apparently most of the budget gone on a time machine so we can restart the season with Brewster playing if we land him.

So please all relax

Yep, I'm broadly of the same mind. So long as we're talking at least 25m as a buy back.

Wasn't £37m buy back mentioned, and it had to be after 3 seasons?

We could be established by then and Hackford will be almost 20.

That opinion is no longer allowed on the forum. Nobody wanted to sign Ramsdale, even for £10m-£15m.

That was, until we signed him, then everyone wanted to sign him and £20m+ was absolutely fine.

I think he'll be a solid enough keeper, but the price we agreed is questionable to say the least. That's if the reports are true of course.

It’s like your other half saying you can use whatever hole you want tonight and finish wherever you want but she wants taken to a restaurant first, not KFC or Nando’s
