Quite a few this past season playing in and in one case winning the champions league
 
Depending on whether we get another permanent striker in (Brewster or otherwise), is there something to be said for bringing this lad in on a short term loan even if its just until January?

We know he’s more than likely moving abroad then, so why not offer him a couple of months here to ramp up his negotiating power? He’s not doing that in Arsenals reserves, so why not come here and try his luck? Worst case scenario, he doesnt do anything but will at least be able to say he’s got PL minutes under his belt and showed willing to go out on loan to get them. Best case, he bangs a few in and he can go into his negotiations strong. That alone should motivate him. Plus its not like he’s a defender or midfielder who might take a while to adjust to our system; he’d be an impact player.

Meanwhile, we have covered Moussets injury and come January when this lad leaves, he should be back, plus we have another domestic loan available.

Even Arsenal benefit; he’s never going to play for them, but in the time he’d be with us he could potentially do damage to Spurs, Man U, Leicester and other of their CL/EuroL rivals.

Yes, it would be frustrating if he was awesome and then left, but if we go into it with our eyes open, knowing he’s off abroad in January anyway and we just took it for what its worth and made the best of it, it could be a big win for all parties.

Supposedly he doesn't want a new contract as he wants to play football. At the minimum we'd offer him 10/15 appearances from the subs bench in his first season... And CW would doubtless be happy to start him if he does well.

Really hope we take a punt on him.

Even if it's a structured deal that COULD reach the reported £15m... Because that would mean he's worth it. E.g. £5m up front, £5m if he makes 40 appearances in next two seasons, £5m if England cap in next 5 years.

I've only seen YouTube videos and read some hype, but looks a talent and the stats agree. Pacey forward that can finish... Sounds good in the simplest terms.
 
Also if he didn't cut it/fit in with us, we wouldn't make a loss on him, because another team would happily give him a go at a similar transfer fee. Very young.
 
He would only go on a free to a foreign club on the expiry of his contract a British club would have to pay compensation so I've read, to me I think this lad is better value than Brewster, it's a risk I know but its equally a risk with Brewster, the money we save can be put to a attacking midfielder possibly swift
 
Looking at the video, he seems quick, smart with an eye for goal, and he can finish with both feet.
He also enjoys scoring with very few people watching!

Random observation, he wasn’t facing world class defenders, and most of the keepers looked rubbish too.

I just don't buy this tbh. The lad is refusing to sign a contract at Arsenal because he wants to play. Why would he then go to a lesser Premier League club where he will only get limited chances to play? The Championship is the obvious choice for him.
 
Seen nothing of this lad but £10m for a player who's never played in the first team in the prem, and we're expecting him to go and do that week in week out...ridiculous.
 
Talking to a Man Utd supporting mate of mine who pointed out this kid’s numbers at youth level are reminiscent of those of Mason Greenwood. Now obviously not every player makes the step up to first team level as well as others but if we could get him and get half the season out of him that Greenwood had last season, on top of what we already have, I’d think that would see us comfortably safe in the prem

If he doesnt sign for us he will sign abroad in January, France/germany

What makes you think he'd get limited chances to play? If we do sign him - and I have no idea if we will or not - he'll clearly have been told about CWAK's plans for him and how much game-time he can expect if he commits himself in training.

His path to the first team at Arsenal is blocked by Auba, Lacazette and Nketia.

At United we are lacking up top and whilst he might not start right away there is a clear path for him to become first choice.

If he went to the championship, he may go straight in as first choice (unlikely unless it is a lower end side lacking a striker) but he would be paid less and wouldn’t be noticed as much as he would be in PL. Maybe we are a happy medium between Arsenal and the championship for him.
 
Balogun probably has as a better chance of being a regular for us than some Championship teams. Our current forwards would all be 4th choice at Arsenal too, the move seems to make sense, but anything near to £10 million is ridiculous

The lad obviously fancies his chances of making his mark so going to a prem club is ideal ,that's the kind of young player we want confident but hungry to play regular 1st team football.
Wilder would certainly tell him what he wants ,no easy time at the lane just get out there and do yourself justice it would be up to the player to earn the shirt.
