Car showrooms are not what they were BBT. At one time you could walk into a car showroom and be sure of finding some top totty strewn across the bonnet wearing just a bikini. Actually, I might be getting confused with the motor show at Earl's Court, but summat like that anyway.

No mate, what I was inferring was that sometimes it's nice to go and look at things that you know you could never afford, but just to get the thrill of imagining what it must be like to take them for a spin and put them through their paces. That definitely doesn't apply to the totty sales girls, who make a bee-line for me every time I go in.

I went in JCT 600 at Meadowhead a few weeks ago. I was only there to get a new car key. I walks in and immediately this attractive young lady comes up to me and asks..."Can I help you?". She weren't half-bad either! She then asks, "Can I just take your name and a contact number?" I said to her, "You can, with pleasure, but I should tell you now, I'm married, but if it's not a problem for you, it's not a problem for me!".

Of all the transfer mega threads, must admit this has been one of the weakest. The Maupay thread had Cadette going head to head with the Brentford ITK. Intel on this one has been piss poor.

hmm not too sure about this one, that is pretty mad to fabricate interest in a player, potentially putting the clubs reputation and financial interests at risk for the sake of a whistleblower, also as said above, wilder admitted interest...

edit: I do think your theory has some weight though, they may have fabricated interest in a minor player and spread out different rumours among different staff members at BL to rat him out ala Colleen Rooney

Not everything wilder and the board do has to be a 4D chess move. Sometimes you will miss out on players or they will want to play elsewhere.

You’ll lose all credibility in the market if we bid for players as ‘smokescreens’ or claim we are in for players we have no interest in.

Maybe the interest and talks were there, but not quote at the level that RC alluded to. The Brentford fans were so bloody stubborn and adamant they were right, it was a fun battle while it lasted!

Really good point! I think there is a lot to be said about not knowing everything that is happening at the club/in the World.

Roygbiv touched upon something similar on this week's BladesPod and how, as no fans can currently attend games and are more likely to be watching the games alone, there's a constant barrage of opinions; with many of those being blow out of proportion.

I remember when Kendall was first in charge and we signed a lot of players. There wasn't too much speculation. You woke up, put on Radio Sheffield for the sports news at twenty past (I think!) and found out we'd signed somebody else.
