We've obviously offered a deal that is in line with what we believe he is worth and he refused to sign it. His celebration against Bournemouth was one of a dickhead.

I appreciate he may not be a bad egg but he has refused to sign a contract, has been petulant on the pitch and take the penalty miss out, since January last year he has been absolutely gash. I dont think yiu can blame any fans for wanting him to 'fuck off'.
 



Why do people especially Sky keep track of games last season is history oh we've lost 5, we've lost 2 in League this season, drawn one in cup and lost that on pens.

Okay we're shit at pens but we were wank for 10 minutes against Wolves and paid price, and last night one lapse in concentration cost us a goal. We are not playing utter shite just stupid mistakes that seem to haunt us all the time, I must admit I've no idea who's gunna score for us unless current forwards have an extreme run of goals.

We were robbed by ref again at VP last year the cunt never charged his watch, and last night he'd got special vision that allowed him to see Watkins ragged all over (I fucking think not). He was pulling Egan's shirt and had his arm across his body but we get punished, then they invent some fucking stupid "double Jeopardy" rule I gave up sometimes.

So can you confirm how much a week we have offered

You don’t have scooby doo do ya

We could be offering him 15k a week when he could get 25/30k at majority of bottom half teams in the prem

Do you reckon lundstram should go oh yeah thanks I’ll take that no don’t kid yourself

CW/AK obviously still rate lunny very highly as they dropped Norwood and kept lundstram in the team

Grow up and stop scapegoating players based on something you have zero clue about 👍

I'm not 'scapegoating' anyone.

You're struggling with the definition of both rational and scapegoat. Do they do dictionaries at Fallowfield Library?

I have never claimed to know how much we have offered only to say we have offered what we think he is worth. He obviously wants more. The figures are irrelevant.

Given that he won't sign and he was available for transfer yet no one was beating our door down I'd suggest Lunny getting 30k a week must be one from your rational shelf of arguments.

He may be getting picked in that right midfield role but its an area we have tried to strengthen and it doesn't hode the fact that he has been pretty shit for the last 6 months. In fact our best performances (Chelsea, Spurs, Wolves) have come with Lunny no where near the starting XI.

He's not good enough unfrotunately and if he ends up at a Preston or Bristol City he'll still be batting a tad high in the order in my opinion.

The thing is this. You’ve no idea about his contract situation, you’ve no idea how much he’s been offered and why he’s decided not to sign it at this time. Wilder does and he’s been fairly positive when talking about Lundstram, he’s kept him around the team and even more he’s started him in the first two games of the season. That should tell you all you need to know. If he’s playing for United he gets my support.

He'll get my support on the pitch but really? Players should be above criticism just because they're in the team?

He's been fucking abysmal in the first 2 games of the season and his actions have directly led to us being in positions where we have no points. That tells me all I need to know.

I didn’t say that did I. You aren’t really criticising him because of how he’s performing on the pitch, you’re criticising him for not signing a new contract and you’ve no idea why he hasn’t done that.

He’s not been abysmal in the first two games at all, don’t be ridiculous. He’s been no worse than most in the team but they aren’t actively targeted for abuse like Lundstram is.

I am criticising him for both.

He's an average player who was back up at best in the Championship and had 6 good months last year. He then wouldn't sign a new contract and his celebration against Bournemouth was petulant and childish. If he thinks he can do better than we're offering him as a low end/top Champ budget then good luck to him. I don't think hes worth pushing the boat out for and like Duffy - he may miss out.

As for him not being abysmal. He missed an awful tackle against Wolves and gave the ball away regularly. Against Villa he was on dead balls and didnt beat the first man once, put some awful balls in, made a stupid tackle again to get booked early and took an awful pen.

Against Wolves he gave the ball away less than Fleck (check the pass completion % if you like) and yet one gets abuse for giving the ball away, the other doesn’t. He missed one tackle, he wasn’t be the first and he won’t be the last. That was just one moment in one game. He didn’t beat the first man once? He did, you’re seeing what you want to see. I notice you don’t give him any praise for his pass to Burke for the penalty we won. His penalty wasn’t the worst, he didn’t miss on purpose and again, he won’t be the last person who misses a penalty for us. Sharp has missed penalties for us, McGoldrick missed one against Wednesday. I’m sure you called him abysmal for it, didn’t you?

Lundstram wasn’t to blame for Wolves’ second goal and he wasn’t to blame for Villa’s. Were the players who were to blame also abysmal in that game because of that one particular moment?

As I say, your criticism is based solely on his contract and that effects how you see him perform in games. You don’t understand his contract situation because you have no idea about it. Wilder does and he keeps picking him.

No it isn't though. If I thought he was worthy of his place and he was a quality player I'd be mad at the club for not offering him a deal to keep him.

His set pieces were awful, Fleck was poor first half against Wolves but carried the ball and looked a threat second half. I think Lundstram has been really poor since Christmas and his performances in the first two games this season have been awful.

Its avout opinions but that isnt based on him not signing a contract, its based on his output on the pitch being fucking rubbish.

I cant believe I'm having to justify an opinion that Lundstram has been awful so far this season.

Out of interest if Wilder drops him against Leeds? Will you form a different opinion? You know as amazing as Wilder is, he can make mistakes.

No, why would I. Players get dropped all the time for all sorts of reasons. I think it’s fairly obvious that Wilder rates him as a player, regardless of whether he plays the next game or not.

All of your reasons for thinking Lundstram is rubbish could be attributed to several of our players. I’ve raised these points and you’re seemingly unable to argue against them. You’ve singled out Lundstram for apparently costing us points in the last two games but haven’t said a word against the other players who were also responsible for those dropped points. You single him out for apparently never beating the first man once with a set piece (which is patently untrue) and yet Norwood didn’t get the same treatment when his set-pieces were largely poor against Wolves.

I’m not expecting anyone to think he’s our best player but what I would like is for criticisms of any of our players to be balanced and considered. The criteria that you use to judge their performance should be applied across the team. Calling a player abysmal and a disgrace just because they missed a penalty is idiotic.

I can see we’re unlikely to agree on this though so probably best to leave it there
