We’ve just lost 1-0 away, had a man sent off early, missed a pen....they have spent £millions again and there was nothing between the teams - so I think we need to put some perspective on it
Burke - looks promising and as confidence builds I think he will be good for us
Berge - continues to impress
Ampadu - will be a key player for us I am sure
Bash - different class

We will be fine!

Nothing between the teams except three points today. I’m not a doom-monger but teams like Villa are those we need to be taking points from or it’s going to be a long, hard season.

The lads who played tonight (with exception of Egan who wasn't on the pitch long enough) have all done really well considering. 2nd game back and had to play for 85 mins with a man less. They did fuckin well. Some fans need to stop complaining. They ran their blood to water for the cause and I was proud of em.

Basham makes a defensive clearance in our box, runs the length of the pitch to get on the end of a brilliant pass from Burke, just about to slot it home then gets fouled. Penalty.

Starts and finishes the attack. What a player but robbed of a goal.

Actually think he had a chance to slot it home before going over.

Hard to judge this season

V wolves (a very good side) we killed our selves In The first 6 minutes. We held our own after that.

tonight we were down to 10 for the best part part of 80 mins. That wasn’t going to be in the game plan, so who knows how it would have gone.

That said we haven’t solved the striker issue and goal look hard to come by and ramsdale is a downgrade so it’s going to be tough. We need a creative midfielder also.

Call it how it is, no need to constantly try to look for positives especially when they're hard to find.

We weren't awful but weren't good either and neither were they. Early red card spoiled the game and made it a slugfest. Probably a fair outcome in the end. That's it really.

As we saw the reply about 2 million times due to VAR you could tell by the angle of his foot the ball was going to go in that far corner of the net before he was clipped.

Villa struggled to break us down even with someone like Grealish in their team.

The great thing about that is, when he had done, she'd probably say 'Ahh bless love, that were nice' rather than running off with him.

Aye, he's looking handy though.

Yeh, she'd probably get a cuddle, a kiss on the forehead and he'd ask for a glass of milk on his way out.

Reasons to be positive

Baldock, O Connell, Berge, Bash, Burke

All others were poor - McBurnie totally inadequate, out of his depth by a long way.

Even with 10 men we were not what I'd call decent- we were desperate. And finally I love Fleck to pieces but what's happened?

Just doing some crude predictions (either a draw or assume a 1-0 win, f*ck goal difference) and assuming we beat Fulham and Leeds, I think we'd be 14th by mid October and hover between that and 16th assuming we lose to Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea after that.

Effort can't be faulted Weasel. We did well considering, but its obviously a poor start and I can see us having a very slow start to the season with tougher games coming up soon also. We're making to many individual errors. One of the reasons we did so well last season is because we made so few, this season we're making two a game at least and they're big errors.

Agree with the silly mistakes being too regular and I also thought we shot ourselves in the foot tonight (again).

But I still maintain there's not a lot wrong with the side. Get 3 points soon and we will be up and running again. Just need that first win to settle us down again.

We’ve played 180 minutes and 164 of those plan A was out the window and we faced an uphill battle. We need someone with quality up top but that wouldn’t have made a difference tonight.

I'd add Ampadu as he did ok..gave the ball away late on, but he was trying to be positive carrying the ball.

We won't be fine until we have quality up top

With quality up top we have a great chance of top half.

As we now we’ll be 3 quarters down the league but should still stay up quite comfortably.
