Valad Share Price

Remind me again what current interest Sheffield United have in Valad?

About a year ago, Kev McCabe had his loan notes in Valad paid up to the tune of £30m to avoid a deal that would have left him owning 19.9% of Valad but not the bulk of the cash.

Incidently, although their share price is slipping (for a property company in the bottom of a property recession, fancy that...), and it suffered a massive writedown on their asset values last year, forecasts for Valad are expecting to return to profit this current year...

McWobblegob stuffed Valad good and proper....google it.......... property he's yer man ....... sum reight tasty deals he has....sum of em in partnership with his favourite bank....the Bank of Scotland....so i believe. !

Out to bleed us - no. But the consequences of his business decisions ref Sheffield United (ie all we care about) has left us without a pot to piss in. That he didn't purposefully do it makes it only slightly less depressing.

I don't believe that Foxy .................... BUT he should go ...the delisting the interst rates i could go on BUT i won't except to say he is holding the club back, just my humble opinion.

How much have you got in your Post Office book, Beighton? Maybe we should form a group called 'United Till I Die' or something like that. We can get pledges of money from fellow supporters and wonder where they all went to when we call them in. What do think of Len for Chairman? He seems a bright chap who always knows what to do. Maybe you fancy it..?

Cheers, my mistake - I thought he still had a small interest.

The man would appear to be a genius or the luckiest man alive or both.

You mean the one thats been ring-fenced to be independently financed, the one thats just got promoted to the China PL again, the one from the latest twin town (city) of Sheffield? That one..?

Anyone know if Macca has built owt in Budapest yet?

OK, I know it was relegated for corruption and I know that it lost us £2.5M in one season alone. I think it was in the premier league at the time. I don't understand how, as part of the PLC, it can be independant from us. Then again, I don't see how loans that are on the accounts raking up interest don't effect us, but McCabe tells us they don't.

Does the financial ringfencing mean that we'll not get back the millions we've sunk into it? If not, a one way deal, really? Are you happy with that?

Given what's being served up on the pitch and Speed's increasing frustration at being asked about reinforcements, I think I'm right to question.

I have the impression that if United invested in a turd factory, you'd invest in polish. That's your right too.

PS - Twinned with Sheffield. Surely you aren't impressed with town twinning bullshit?

Not directly our concern, but we'll never know who picked up the travel, wages and expenses of all the personnel we sent over there.

Twinning no, but It'll be interesting to see what happens with the connections we have their now.

Fair enough. Personally (call me impatient) I'm bored shitless about the future potential of our business dealings. I forked out £60 to see Doncaster Rovers play us off the park yesterday. We're in danger of being relegated. Our manager's response suggested we've got no finance to do anything about it. Our Chinese offshoot cost is £2.5M in one year. When I raise the irony of this, I'm reminded that our city has been twinned with theirs. Apologies to Duncan for not being totally enamoured by this set-up...:D

What I'm suggesting in mentioning this to you is that KevMc was the instigator of this link up and the trade delegations that are bringing the possibility of economic development in South Yorkshire, is that he has a higher, bigger vision than just Sheffield United FC. He appears to have reached that stage in the life of many wealthy people where their thoughts are firmly on legacy, and more altruistic motives. Many of my fellow supporters see the link with Chengdu as part of the problem, whereas I'm sure KevMc sees it as part of the solution.

What is undeniable is that he appears not to have the passion for the development of the club that he had five or ten years ago. Maybe he sees it like a bit of a teenage child. As much as you hope they will do what you ask, it just doesn;t work out like that. They always need more money, but always find new ways of disappointing you, although through it all you know its a stage that they have to go through to learn to live on their own feet. You never stop loving them, but they are hard to like. Maybe SUFC is like that 15 year old. Painfully trying to find its place in the world without really knowing what to do next, making mistakes that it claims it is too smart to, and busying itself with trivialities of style and fashion while ignoring substance. Is what we're going through just some form of puberty? Are we the awkward kid who doesn't seem to be able to get a girlfriend while his friend regale us with tales of their conquests (or £20k a week loans).

Time for bed I think...

Trying to think what the right word is for a 'fan' who thinks so little of football supporters in general but finds himself in awe of rich people. Probably quisling or summat like that.
Your comments on Wednesday Till I Die are pretty contemptuous. Any set of fans that tries to get involved in ownership or challenge the general shit that is served up by chairmen and football boards the country over should be supported.
Your knees must bleed from all the time you spent on them Dunc.

Oh lenny, you are a silly sausage. Standing up for the piggies. What could possibly be unrealistic about a plan that suggests that 20,000 Wednesday fans x £500 each would enable them to buy the club, and have a transfer budget. Sure.

WTID are another bunch of know-nowt dreamers. They are well meaning enough, gathering brave pledges from people who have 'forgotten their wallets', like the £500k pledged by the mysterious Billsaja, who has since disappeared up his own arse without leaving a cheque. I'm afraid that anyone who shouts 'Sack the board' falls into the same category. The correct chant is 'Buy them out', and if you haven't got the cash in your pocket, its pretty pointless, isnt it? Save your strength to fight battles you can win.

My knees are fine Len. Hows your arse, you know the one you sat on and said nowt when you've had the opportunity to "challenge the general shit that is served up by chairmen and football boards" first hand at the AGM..?

Standing up for football fans Dunc, whether they're Wednesday or anyone else. Football as a whole utterly stinks at the moment, riddled by greed, untruths, and fans being shat on from a great height.
You believe that life revolves around money, that strength only comes from money, that there is only money. Very sad, very soulless and very SUFC at the moment.

Do you just keep swinging until you get a hit?
How does the stadium building in Budapest effect us?

Fans buying control of a club in our league would be the death knell. I'd love Wednesday till I die take over their running, they'd be out of business within a couple of years.
Look what happened with Strafford when someone tries to play to the "all knowing" fans. Fans make decisions with their hearts and thinking that they will always be right. Therefore if you give a manager a huge wage budget you will get promotion, they also easily fall into the usual manager trap of we only need 3 more players. These players are usually expensive and outside of your current wage structure. Would a fans group stand up to the manager and say we can't afford it, or risk it?

Well actually Dunc you came across as irked because it's questioned that once again, though well intentioned, another of McCabe's ventures has cost us dearly. You're happy that the hole's now been plugged. I'm upset that the bath-water's all leaked out. It seems you've widened your appeasement sphere to the greater good of the region. Well with my Sheffield United head on - fuck that! It's Sheffield United that's stuck with a huge debt, with interest - to McCabe.

At what point do you stop and question? You can put it all in the context of what's important, playing football with the kids etc. You're dead right, but this is a football message board. Without discussion of the workings and future prospects of the club, we're left with a bunch of overpaid, bang average footballers who're failing to entertain us week in, week out, despite the endless drain of cash that we pour their way. Ridiculously, I'm happy to do it. Strangely, I reserve the right to at least ask for better.

Fairly sure Alco would have done on Chedwyn Bobert :-)

It affects us because the more gullable fans believe he has linked up with Ferenc to help our first team when in reality he has done it make some wedge, for him sen. Fair enough, but why all the crap on our websites etc about Ferenc
