The reason you have 4 or 5 strikers (1 more addition would have us at 6) is to cover for these types of injuries.

You don't just keep adding one more every time someone gets an injury. We're limited to 25 in a squad.
Think both would come under the under 21 rule so wouldn't need to be registered in the 25.. not 100 percent though.

You still need to find playing time for them all. Wilder's not going to carry 7 strikers in his squad. He's always said he prefers working with a smaller squad. It's better for morale.

OrderOfStGeorge 's policy seems to be to sign a player every time someone picks up an injury. That's what the squad is for.

Sharp and McGoldrick are not good enough at this level aa strikers.

Wilders just signed Burke that leaves us with McBurnie and Mousett.

Mousett spends most of his time in the treatment room and is out injured.

So right now as it stands we are left with McBurnie and Burke.

I dont think Burke is the answer but got to give the lad a chance but we definitely need more options you can never have too many.

The same McGoldrick who completely transforms us from being a long ball team every time he plays?

I said as a striker he should be playing in attacking midfield role because he is a very intelligent player that brings others into the game and creates chances.

I agree. However, I also think McBurnie himself is part of the issue

All his best work is way outside the box. That needs to be someone else’s job. As a striker he needs to be on the last man at all times. I don’t think he does that enough. Just my opinion.

Possibly both issues are causing his goal drought problem?
Extremely valid point. Did you see Ancelotti then Lineker talking about DCL on MOTD?

McBurnie being asked to take one for the team presumably. Overall helps Blades be a solid team that are hard to beat.

He does but he doesn't score or create many goals at this level. Nice player but we need strikers to score goals.

Sharp/Didsy are not the answer this season, Burke more of a wide player, Moose never fit.

We need 2 more up top.

If you take McGoldrick off the park, with our midfield, it won't matter what strikers you have up there. We just don't play football when he's not on the park. It's knock and chase into channels.

How many assists and goals did he create/score last season? If you want to play one striker and a number 10 then get a pair that can be productive.

Well that tells you all you need to know about the lack of creativity in our midfield.

For me McGoldrick should be playing behind McBurnie and Burke against Villa.

With Fleck and Berge behind him.

He's an enigma. He doesn't score many, he doesn't assist many. But you only have to watch our games to see what he does do. Tracks the ball, always available, retains possession, slows play down in the final third, allows us to get up the field, create our overloads, execute our game plan.

I agree, on paper, he shouldn't be selected. But it's clear as day what he brings when he's on the pitch. Until our midfield start taking on more responsibility for what he does, he has to play.
