Who have? Can you break this down so we can understand which teams you believe have significantly strengthened while we are so much weaker with essentially the same squad, a year on, and with more depth?

I would argue that we're weaker (our starting XI, not the squad).

Ramsdale is an obvious difference. Some people think he may be better than Henderson eventually, I disagree but the point is, it's a different player between the sticks. I think he won't be as good, but we'll see.

Mousset hasn't been right for a while, and is now injured, apparently in the semi long term. His goals were key to keeping us well above relegation early-ish last season, along with those of...

John Lundstram, who for whatever reason doesn't seem half the player he did this time last year.

Take Henderson, Mousset and Lundstram out of that team until December time last year (or whenever it was) and we would have been looking over our shoulders a lot more, I fancy.

On the flip side, Leeds have already scored 7 - it will probably take us about 12 games to match that!

We were incredible at turning goals in to points last season. This season I think we'll score fewer goals, couple that with regressing to the mean in regards to our goals to points ratio, and I think we'll struggle, or at least get plenty fewer points than last season.

The goals will dry up but they will keep conceding.

Norwich were the same, scored 9 in the first 5 games including 2 v Chelsea & 3 v Man City.

You get a feel of how seasons gonna go after about 5-6 games usually in PL by then we should have atleast 1 other striker and players will settle in and Wilder knows his best team

The team at the moment have we honestly got enough to stay up?

Yes, absolutely. In a way the Wolves game made me more certain than ever. Playing a side full of proper world class players and you find yourself 2 down after 6 minutes - to stay positive and fight our way back into the game like we did showed we still have the same kind of resolve as the previous 4 seasons which has enabled us to outperform "expert" predictions again and again. Compare when Watford went 2 down after 7 minutes at Man City last season - end up conceding 8. That's a sign of a team that's going down or heading for a relegation fight all season.

No , not enough goals in it.
And I reckon CW knows it.

Bournemouth scored more than us last year, watford were only 3 behind.

West ham (16th) & Vila (17th) outscored us.

Wilder will want more of a goal threat but goals alone don’t keep you up.

We have a better defence than at least 4 or 5 other teams so think we’ll be safe.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Brighton, Villa, Palace, Leicester, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Spurs & Wolves, have all got stronger to varying degrees. Some of those teams aren't our competitors, some are. But we have play them all.
So do everyone else, and the OP was talking about relegation so it would be those around us I’m asking about.
You list Brighton, yet they’ve spent less than we paid for the Derby lads but they’re apparently significantly stronger?
Villa, I’d accept but they also spend a fortune last season, so them aside we’ve three promoted sides and another 6-7 teams who are assumed to have also improved while we haven’t.

And i'd say we were weaker due to DH being better than AR, and the fact that BS and McG who were poor last year in terms of goals have got another year older. We've got squad players who you'd seriously worry about stepping in if we had long term injuries. Moose is still an enigma and Lunny is winding down his contract. Since January we've been short of a goalscorer and a duffy type player, which we're still short off.

Well we didn’t have a Duffy type before Christmas, and I think we need to accept that’s not how we’re going to play with Freeman being moved on.
Lots of folk saying Hendo at the start of last season was superior to where Ramsdale is now is a stretch I don’t agree with, and as you mention we’ve now got Berge which is a huge upgrade.
We’re much stronger at full back with the cover, and Ampadu is better than what we had previously. Burke has replaced Leon, and we’re in for another forward too.
I’m just not seeing this massively weaker squad, while so many have apparently passed us in order to make relegation an almost certainty for us.

The main point being, why are some on here getting their knickers in a twist worrying about something that may never happen ?...... :(

Forgot about Ampadu, he's another positive.

Since last season, Brighton have signed Lallana and Veltman, they've got Ben White back from Leeds and Connolly & Lamptay are a season more experienced, and now starters. Duffy, Mooy & Montoya have left. I'd say they were stronger.

Until the new forward arrives, Burke has replaced CR. ;)

No that's wrong, it should have read -
Why do some people get their knickers in a twist at the beginning of every season worrying about something that may never happen ?

The team at the moment have we honestly got enough to stay up?

Chris Wilder always says "you can't stand still, can't rest on your laurels, got to push on"

But we started the season with the same team playing the same way as last season, with predictably, the same result. No goals.

By his own philosophy, we need to be bringing something new and if we don't, we will struggle. So it's reasonable to be concerned.

But that's just one game and we've got new players to shake things up, so I think we will evolve and we will stay up

We are weaker in goal, anyone who says ramsdale is as good as Henderson is deluded. He may get better but hes got a long way to go, his strange diving needs urgent work. On the bright side he has a solid defence in front of him who hopefully can help him out. One area he is good in is his distribution of the ball.
We can be stronger in midfield if, Berge takes up Norwoods place, and we shove norwood to right midfield. Norwood in the centre limits our creativity, Berge offers far more vision and forward momentum.
Our forwards are starved of a good ball forward so I cant realistically judge their performances. Too often the ball is hoisted forward by defence/midfield and Mcburnie is expected to nod it on/control it and score, he cant do it all. In my opinion Sharp shouldn't be starting but when he does he is trying to do too much, he is regularly supplying crosses into the area he should be, due to no link up between midfield and the front men.
Moving Norwood to right midfield may result in better balls into the middle, release a striker from having to cross and giving them the opportunity to have a goal scoring chance. He does have the means to put a good ball in, he just cant carry a teams main threat.
We do have the players to stay up but we need to shuffle them around so we create more chances and stop leaving the strikers isolated.

Absolute scenes, someone talking sense/tactics in a rehashed forum era of clappers and slashers. 😍

Ramsdale has had 1 game Deano had a season bedded into the team before be played for us in the Premier League give the lad a chance he is a quality young keeper.

I definitely intend to give him a chance, hes our number 1 now so he should have all our backing. It's still valid to point out he has weaknesses Henderson didnt have. I did say he has very good distribution.
