Is it possible he has signed and all been kept quiet until tomorrow 🤔. Didn't wilder say in an interview he was expecting someone in by Monday. No photos of training sessions which are usually on twitter, none of the players posting anything either. Just a thought

Could be but doubt it

CW has already said it’s doubtful he’ll have anyone in before the Villa game

No closer to signing him than this time last week.
Time’s passing towards the end of the window, games are passing by and we are still struggling with Sharp (not good enough) Didsy (not fit or consistent) McB (Not threatening enough) and Burke (not a goal scorer)
Not including Mousset as I reckon the current injury and subsequent recovery time will mean he’s not available a great deal before the next window Opens.

It’s a big week ahead for the team, and honestly think could be the difference between staying up and quite possibly going down. We certainly don’t want the next window to be the time we are looking for a striker to save us, because if we can’t afford that player now, we will be even less likely to then!

Come on Mr Bettis....get this sorted!!

Where's the evidence that we aren't skint? It works both ways if we're honest, can see why folk think we're brassic when our chairman said himself the wing backs from derby were signed after a vote.. and two members thought we were already over budget.

If that is true they must be related to McCabe it was because of tight fisted idiots like that why we were relegated time.

You're making an assumption that relegation is totally inevitable if we don't sign a new striker. Maybe the board & manager don't share that view.

I think we're going to struggle a lot more this season, but I don't think bringing in Rhian Brewster will make a huge difference to our prospects. We're not laying on piles of chances that our current strikers are missing. It's chance creation that's our issue.

The board need to go to specsavers if they think our strikeforce is good enough it is a championship strikeforce on the whole.

Finally some more twitter action 🤣

If we pay £25m for him there’s no way we can say this is a brilliant deal, it’s a huge gamble regardless of how brilliant he looked for Swansea.

There can’t be any team that’s ever paid £25m based on half a season in any second tier division

Remember how absolutely certain most pig fans were about Jordan Rhodes.

Really hope we get Brewster, but fans should only kick off if we miss out on Brewster and then don’t bring anyone in. As long as the club makes a £10-20m investment in a striker that could improve our firepower, that’s the main thing.

Never panic in the transfer market, trust in your management team and make sensible but purposeful investments

5 million more for a player that, if we go by his record in the short time would've probably scored the same amount as MCB... Yet MCB is shite apparently..

A Championship strike force that contributed to a top half Premier League finish last season.

Don't disagree that we need more up front, but to dismiss what we currently have, as worthless, is wide of the mark IMO.

Like when everyone wanted Watkins, who scored something like 2 more goals than McBurnie in the Champ in a better team with more appearances.

McBurnie and Mousett are but the rest are not hence why I said on whole Mousset as much as I love watching him play for us spends far too much time out.

There is no concrete proof that the fee is 25m all these fees are just pure speculation.

We can’t borrow against future income imo, we could easily be relegated, not saying we will or likely to either, just that we are in that group of clubs who could easily go down
Future income will include one more season of PL prize money and 2 season's worth of parachute payments.
Still a reasonable amount.

Possible but we have seen plenty of clubs go down with parachute payments and not come back up

I thought your issue was 'borrowing against future income'?

It is and parachute payments are huge parts of that, you aren’t signing anyone decent without them having a real decent wage which we likely can’t afford in lower league without them

I'm calling it now (Beans already did tbf) McGoldrick won't miss as many chances as last season, unless he's actively trying to miss.

He is not a premiership quality striker if he should play in any position it is in an attacking midfield role because I.M.O he is a very clever player and brings others into the game and we look poorer without him creating chances.

The trouble is he is just got good enough to play as a striker.
