We can all relax, get behind Speedo and enjoy a few more exciting and comical games like yesterday.

Top 2 (not that we have any interest whatsoever) and bottom 3 all a formality for me now, we might get a bit close for comfort at times but we've got enough I think.

The table is taking shape, quarter of the term gone and it is often said that let's give it a few games. Well we've had a few games and we are pretty rubbish in all departments and deserve to be where we are, 3 points above relegation.

Must stress I think Speedo's doing a great job in the circumstances.

A bit harsh, lads. Mic is an "interesting bloke", and apparently not a wanker. Give the little lad a break!

I don't know, you start a well meaning string, praise the manager, say the game was exciting and still nowt but abuse. I just give in. Ignore it fellas. I think the bottom 3 are accounted for, that has to be good news.

By the way Sensi, your serious suggestion on another string that Copthorne are paying entirely for the building and running costs of the hotel have made my weekend.

Is that a quote from one of my posts? Have I ever said that?

This is just another in along line of threads by different people saying the same thing that could all be in one thread rather than 50+

and on the Copthorne thing, I said they would be paying a proportion of it in what rent they are paying - which is normal for tennants.
Which means fair enough United have an 18 year loan for the hotel, but it is being payed off not fully by United but by United and Copthorne.
Glad it made you happy, at least it shows something can :D

Yeates' goal could turn out to be absolutely critical to the outcome of this season.
Without it, the outcome had the potential to be crippling to a team low on confidence and with it becoming increasingly apparent Speed was sold on a duff brochure.
We badly need Henderson and Ward back to bolster the frontline and have to hope there is someone out there who will take Evans on loan, presumably with us still paying around £10,000 a week on his wages. How on earth he scored 10 goals for Norwich I'll never know. Doesn't move, work, anticipate, has no skill, no speed, can't head the ball and picks up £15,000 to £20,000 a week for doing so.
It's going to be tight but we have to make do and mend and hope we have enough to stay out of the bottom three.

Interesting thread Mic, ignore the blind faith posse.,

Personally I'm still worried. Palace have a decent manager and not a terrible squad. Although I think they'll be down there flirting, I think Burley will get them playing. I also think that Coventry will be dragged into this mix (as they are crap). Be interesting to see how we fare against them in a few weeks. On the evidence so far we are almost certainly in the 6 worst teams in the year and though it's gives some comfort to see that there are shocking teams like Scunthorpe (who put 4 past us at home) and Preston (who we struggled to beat) in the division, we should not be counting our chickens just yet.

Agreed, it could prove to be a massive goal. Or it could not. I really enjoyed watching Yeates yesterday, a quality performance, but I did find it ironic that the goal at the death, which was a result of fantastic first touch, quick feet and control, and a well controlled strike under pressure, was scored by a player who could look completely crap in the next couple of games. To me, he symbolises our inconsistency at the moment, which is costing us dearly. Although the areas of weakness have become apparent to most of us, I think a fair chunk of the squad is easily good enough, but isn't able to show it consistently.

Well why didn't you just say that rather than some daft stuff about 'look at me' etc etc?
I certainly didn't read your Cop comments like that but there you go. I agree entirely with your above comment.

You could easily look at the other end and see that our only 2 good defenders don't belong to us.

We didn't spend £4m to £5m on any of the defenders though.
Calve is what I thought he'd be - lightweight and struggles defensively, Nozza's comic but always worth watching, Morgs has lost confidence because of what's around him, Jordan seems ok etc.
Sad to see QPR's star performer being their right back yesterday.

I hope you're right about the bottom three. But I can't help remembering that one of them beat us 4-0 at The Lane!

And Leicester's. Everton's was a centre back.

It's good living in the past isn't it? :)

If you don't learn from your history, you're doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over JD.
To be honest, I take greater pleasure from seeing the success of Jags and the Kyles than trying to relate to the complete mediocrity passing through the revolving door at the Lane currently.

Totally agree, pleasure watching Jags have a comfy game against Torres. Looking forward to seeing Walker in action as well.

I wouldn't worry about the hotel.......McWobblegob had his property hat on when he stitched err i mean did the deal with Copthorne..... I would worry about the squad and manager we have and our position in the league come the end of the season though.
Hope this helps.

Its now very important we get some players in, in January. It will be interesting to see what Speed does with some of the current players. Evans, Quinn etc.

I hardly see the fact Kyle Naughton is playing for Leicester as 'success' if I'm honest lenners

Are we starting up with all these fucking stupid names again?

Anyone think any of the current bottom 3 will turn things round? Hopefully we will turn things round but if we do limp to say 50 points will that be enough? I think so, just.

I think one of them will turn it round, maybe Palace with a new manager. I see us turning it round more though and think we can beat Donny and give Villa a good go. We have never really been able to build any momentum this season but this could be the perfect few games for Adams to find things about. Strangely I am more excited about the future than worried about relegation. Maybe I am just excited to watch the players put a proper shift in
