The Football is better, he's addressed 2 of the problems with our Club already and the signs are much better than I expected so far.
People look at the Points and Games column in the league. Speed hasn't even had 10 games in charge yet.
8 Games and has 10 points. The Football is better, the defence is more solid and stable and the midfield are becoming more comfortable on the ball. We just need to start banging goals in. Once we actually come into form, there's a strong possibility that we are going to hammer someone. And I mean proper hammer them ...........
Speed needs time. It's high time thye fans stood up and let him get on with the job instead of kicking him in the teeth as soon as we hit a barren spell.
the football has been marginally better than in Blackwells era. To me it is Blackwell like performances, but without grinding out results! Our goals scored is pathetic and 10 points from 8 games is simply relegation form. We are not creating chances, not putting away the few that we do create and defending like school boys. As much as I'd love us to hammer someone I'd be over the moon with a couple of 1-0 wins at the moment.
Whilst I applaud and support your backing of Speedo I am at a loss to why you think we are going to hammer the opposition.
Our crossing of the ball is abysmal, we very rarely beat the first man on corners / free kicks, we seem at a loss how to break down defences, our shooting is awful and heading even worse!
Our front men are pedestrian and our midfielders (apart from Britton) lack vision, guile and creativity
Our defence drops at least two rickets every game and our goalkeeper one every other game
Hammer someone, two 1-0 wins on the trot seems utopia to me at present!
Top post Fiery, spot on.
Ah but where you Bergen identify a recognised problem and outline a considered solution, others identify the problem over and over again every day, ad nauseum. Then it no longer actually represents debate.
Lord Bramley wants to see solutions, rather than just criticism. Opinions don't count as debate in his opinion, so don't criticse unless you can syggest a better solution. Ok brammers, here goes:
- try to go out there and win the game. Forget about playing negative and get out and there and attack the opposition from the very 1st minute
- play 4-4-2 (particularly at home) with 2 wingers and 2 strikers
- play Bogdanovic and Cresswell as central strikers (not Evans)
- don't play Monty. If you REALLY want him in the team then drop Ertl. DO NOT play them together. It should be Britton (a real footballer) and Ertl (the ball winner). ojn this note NEVER< EVER play Monty, Ertl and Britton as a midfeild trio. It is too defensive and lacks creativity.
- get some wingers from somewhere. Either play Ward left and Yeates right, Quinn left and Ward right, bring some players through from the youth team, play Calve (a decent crosser of the ball) or Lowton on the wing or sign/loan a/some winger(s). We desperately need width.
- lay your cards on the table to Birch and McCabe (although Speed may have done this). By this I mean identify the plyers you want to bring in, then go to the baord and be honest, i.e. say that we are going down if we don't bring in fresh players.
- play Britton futher forward OR find an attacking midfielder from somewhere. Again, doesn't matter where from. Loan market or youth team. They cannot be as bad as Monty or Ertl playing the attacking midfielder role.
Is that enough for you Bramley?
