In-house would be a BAD move. There's no way they'd be able to service the demand the way that one of the bigger brands do. All of these in-house brands just skank designs of Nike/adidas and others anyway. Look at Pakistans T20 shirt, it was a rip off of the Nike speedstripe for last season...

Hummel/Umbro would be a great shout, the Southend Hummel shirts for this season are incredible.

There's also a reason the demand is so high. It's because it's a lucrative household name.

I'd happily wear a Adidas Polo shirt out and about. I wouldn't wear an Elev8 one, or an XIII one.

I haven’t thought about that kit for a very long time. Maybe I’ve completely forgotten what was going on off the field at the time, but what was the reason for why we couldn’t find a sponsor? And why when we couldn’t didn’t we do an obvious thing for the city like donating the space to a local charity?

I think it was still the McDonald/Count era. Heath started the season. I don’t really understand how on the one hand we were apparently close to signing Kinkladze, and at the same time couldn’t get a sponsor on the shirt.

Complete guess here, not even an educated one. But McDonald and the Count were what my Grandad would call Ten Bob Millionaires. Promising the earth but the reality was quite different. The Kinkladze thing was just blowing smoke up our arses I think

Adidas are quality. With your United glasses on you might have a whinge about a few details, but apart from the white back of the 18/19 season we've done very well from them. Every kit has been well made and with a smart design. The extra gear is also top notch.

Even Umbro don't have the quality Adidas do, let alone an in-house brand, and Nike rip people off any way they can. Best case scenario is we sign a better deal with Adidas and we just start asking them to put stripes on the back.
