Signing a 32 year old on £50,000 a week has never been part of our transfer strategy.
I took his comment on overseas player as being in the context of overall strategy. Slightly paraphrasing, but I think it was more in the line of “we have a list that we’re working through depending on availability, if players aren’t available we move on to the next, some of those players are abroad”. So we might have a list of targets that are based abroad but that’s not to say they’re the top targets – they might be ones we go to if the ones ahead of them aren’t available.
FFS I kept telling the wife don’t worry Chris will call...it’s the hope that kills youSigning a 32 year old on £50,000 a week has never been part of our transfer strategy.
Therefore: signing a 32 year old on £25,000 (?) a week has never been part of our transfer strategyYou are forgetting this would be a loan where wages are often spilt between the 2 clubs.

Judging by Chris’s comments during the latest Sky interview, I would say the upcoming signing is going to be very good. He seems generally excited and states it will be worth waiting for. Not like Chris to overstate anything so get ready.![]()
Just making the observation that even if we contribute to his wages (say50%) it would not appear to be our MO ("transfer strategy") - especially in the context of our described / alleged salary 'structure'Why not? I don't want Deeney but I don't get your bag
He’s the South American Troy DeeneyI thought the same too.....his face seems to be beaming just thinking about it.
He also seems confident it will happen....sounds like something has already been agreed in principle.
He’s mentioned we are looking overseas....and we have brought it anyone foreign yet.
Dont tell anyone because it’s a secret......but could it be Edison Cavani???
..........I’m only joking.

I dont think it will be Brewster... Mr Wilder deceiving the media once again ... think it will be a foreign signing .... who knows?
Liverpool need to see if Origi is leaving first.Same. The fact he didn’t try and move things on when it was raised directly last week was the first sign for me. He suggested too that we’re just waiting for some dominoes to fall, which seemed to me to be that the selling/loaning club needs to confirm a new signing is in place first before letting them go. Again, that doesn’t seem to fit Brewster.
Be awreyt I suppose.Beundia & Abraham coming in
Be nice.
I think Ampadu has just fucked that up for youBeundia & Abraham coming in

I thought the same too.....his face seems to be beaming just thinking about it.....agree he doesn’t normally show this much enthusiasm regards a target.
He also seems confident it will happen....sounds like something has already been agreed in principle.
A few week back he mentioned we are looking overseas....and we haven’t brought it anyone foreign yet.
