There's nothing wrong with 352 in theory except our players became shit at it because they lost all confidence and daring.

Looking for the perfect pass that definitely won't result in losing possession and eventual conceding, that pass definitely doesn't exist in the opponent's half, or panicking because they think there's a chance and hoofing it out of play or putting it 2 foot over our tallest striker.

Add in some players that haven't been scarred by our shitness, and some Slav style approach play and playing out from the back maybe he can get a version of it working again.
