Do the new signings go straight in? With Berge injured who replaces him? I’d go with

Ramsdale
Baldock Bash Egan JOC Stevens
Lunny Norwood Fleck
Didzy McBurnie

Struggling with the bench, who misses out on the match day squad?

Probable line-up is yours, dependant on whether Berge is injury-free.

New signings+hopeful signings line-up, just for the craic.

......................Ramsdale
.............Bash.....Egan......JOC
Bogle.............Ampadu................Lowe
.............Berge................Fleck
................Dennis.....Brewster

Make it happen Wilder. You know it makes sense.

Ramsdale
Stevens
Basham
Egan
O'Connell
Baldock
Norwood
Fleck
Lundstram
McGoldrick
Sharp

Let's all collectively laugh in the face of the Premier League by starting the new season with the team that got us promoted from the Championship 18 months ago.

Plus the goalkeeper that played for us when we were in League One.

If Berge wasn't injured I'd play him over Lundstram, but Lunny is pushing him very close imo. Close enough for us to warrant not taking a risk on Berge's knee. Tempted to say Robinson in the mix too for a bit of pace and the fact he's had minutes but he might not even be with us come next Monday.

Lunny has only played once this preseason hasn't he? Berge looked great in his appearances, obvious starter for me if available.

Robinson C has been donk for Ireland so I wouldn't put him in either.

For me

Ramsdale
Baldock Bash Egan JOC Stevens
Berge Norwood Fleck
McBurnie McGoldrick

Sharp has been most prolific in preseason though so I think there's a chance he starts over McBurnie who's having a bit of trouble with his infected foot.

Wolves fans not happy about Mike Dean being made ref for the game. Shame I would have liked him to ref us against Arsenal again just to see their fans explode with rage. He doesn't stand for players falling down at the slightest touch and to be fair to Wolves they aren't that type of team.

Seems it was a devious plan by Norway to lull Northern Ireland into a false sense of security about tonights game :D

Whoever wrote that obviously didn't see the match or even watch the highlights if he thinks Berge gave away a 'clumsy penalty'.

One of the harshest pens I've seen recently. The only way to get his arm more out of the way would've been to chop it off and throw it in the stands.

Wonder where the flying home rumour came from, I didn't watch the game but I assume he was physically there if he was named on the bench.

Is he injured? He was on the bench for Norway tonight.

Might be alright for Monday.

He wasn't on the bench pal. That was Patrick Berg.

Edit. I use the FlashScores app and they don't show him. However, the BBC website do !?

McGoldrick was injured and didnt play pre-season I cant see him starting.

It will be Sharp and McBurnie up front

He came on for Ireland the other night.
Aye but he's only had those few minutes of football.

If Berge is fit, he plays. If O'Connell is fit, he plays. Just the strikers that are difficult to guess as per usual. I'd go with Sharp and whoever is fittest out of Didsy, Mcburnie and Mousset.

The starting 11 will be from the players from last season and previous seasons. (except Rammers)

It remains to be seen if any of the new signings will improve our starting 11 and there is very little time for them to showcase otherwise.

All newbies on the bench.

Whilst the squad has been improved I am not convinced our starting 11 has.

Still need 2 strikers but I fully expect these to come in during the last few days of the Window.

Burke I am not counting as 1 of the two strikers. He is a gamble in the Ravel category for me.

you should count Burke as one of the strikers seeing as he is one of the 2 coming in.

Ramsdale and the established back 5

Berge in for Lunny if he is fit.

McBurnie and Mousse up front.

Bench:

Foderingham
Lowe
Bogle
Ampadu
Lunny
Osborn
McG
+ Sharp & Burke (if we are allowed more on the bench)

He's not really an out and out striker though and a gamble in an area we don't ideally want to be gambling in (taking in to account all signings are gambles to a greater or lesser extent)

I have no problem with him signing - we always have one every season; Clarke, Mcgoldrick, Morrison and now it seems Burke. I think the 2nd striker will be Brewster who has a great deal of potential but this is why I think we need another striker that is proven e.g. Josh King or similar whether we get it will remains to be seen.

You heard it hear first!

Ramsdale
Stevens

Robinson
Baldock

I reckon it’ll be this too. If JOC plays in the behind-closed doors game it’ll be his only minutes of preseason – J-Robs in contrast has played every game, and I don’t think we’ll put JOC straight in if not completely fit. Same with McGoldrick and Berge – if they have knocks, there’s no point at this stage risking them. Lundstram knows the role, McBurnie & Sharp have played plenty of games together. Go with that, and sub on some of the new signings.

this is what it will be - the new lads simply wont have had enough time to bed in. No point in risking JOC and Berge if they aren’t 100% fit.

we probably won’t have the other striker in until just before the window closes either.
