I've often considered that.
Rwvie had Elland Rd exorcised before they became 'successful. "
Some of the godawful last days we've had do make you wonder.
Virtually all of our cock-ups have happened away or at neutral grounds though.

I find Billy Sharp boring

New away kit is the best we've ever had, EVER! In fact I think we should ditch the red n white and go home with it.
Honest Injun.

That we'll never win promotion or a cup with Wilder as managers who were defenders have a defensive bias. Just look at the players we spunk real money on, mostly defensive, and how we set up for games. Only truly offensive managers win stuff.
How wrong are you

Whilst our current owners have made a positive start and do have the best interest of the club at heart... I do feel that to progress/maintain where we are we need to be sold to and run by billionaires not millionaires.

(would love to be wrong of course and be careful what you wish for etc.)

I’m emboldened by the sudden appearance of the Kevin Pressman Appreciation Society so here goes - I feel sorry for West Ham fans

I think our players are Championship quality but the system we have in place makes them suitable to play in the PL.
I disagree with this partly: Teams such as Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd (when Jones isn't playing) and Arsenal have top quality in every position and on the bench. Other teams like Spurs, Chelsea, Wolves have mostly top quality players. Very few PL teams have players who aren't PL quality you only have to look at Bournemouth and Norwich to see how appealing their players who got their teams relegated are to other PL teams. As for Sheff Utd our starting 11 are PL quality maybe not as good as Liverpool's but still there on merit. What we don't have is the same quality across the squad.
I think what you are saying is we don't have Top 6 quality.

I worry that we could be in much more of a relegation battle next season.

We were the 5th bottom team in the league for goals scored last season, ahead of Newcastle (just signed Wilson), Watford (relegated), Palace and Norwich (relegated). Billy is 34 now while Moose doesn't appear to be fit/in form pre-season and was our key goalscorer last year. Absent new signings I don't see signs that we will become much more prolific in front of goal this year.

Meanwhile we've swopped Henderson, who was statistically one of the very top GKs in the division, for Ramsdale who I think will be a good signing longer term but was still very much 'average' statwise last year. Opta data suggests Henderson prevented 8.3 goals last season for us, while Ramsdale conceded marginally more than was expected -0.7. Of the 14 games we won last year, 9 were by a 1 goal margin.

We took points from all the teams that were relegated last season (12 from Norwich, Bournemouth, Watford) and a number of other teams we beat also look to have improved significantly (e.g. 4 points from Chelsea who have a scarily good team now on paper, 4 points from Arsenal who were a top 5 team post restart).

Hopefully I'm wrong and we can build on last year's result. Really need to get some points at Villa, Leeds and Fulham in the first 5 games.
